Single Release Concert & Poetry Night at Charles Street AME

Greetings,

I am writing to invite you to a Single Release Concert and Poetry Night at Charles Street AME in Dorchester on June 14th at 7 pm.

I have been in the United Kingdom for the past 4 years at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland where I recently completed my PhD program.

My PhD graduation is on July 10th back in the UK which I will be attending. However, I don’t want to go alone.  I want to return with my family (four of us). Unfortunately, I don’t have the funds to purchase four flight tickets and pay for  hotel accommodation for the brief time in the UK.  So, I decided to release a single I have been working on at a concert and poetry night. Attached is the flyer.

I will also be singing from my previous two gospel albums, reading from my upcoming book on Poetic Expressions as well as commenting on social and penal issues from my book: Locked Up and Locked Down: Multitude Lingers in Limbo Revised Edition. Below is the Eventbrite link for more details. Thanks for your support.

Mystic Chorale sings GOSPEL 3/2 and 3/3

The Mystic Chorale, one of Greater Boston’s favorite community choruses, presents its annual Gospel concert. Led by award-winning gospel director Jonathan Singleton, the 250-voices-strong chorale and 5-piece band presents two joyful and spirit-filled performances featuring a mix of music rooted in the African American gospel tradition.

This year’s exciting program includes an eclectic mix of gospel sourced from all around the world, including the Soweto Gospel Choir’s Woza Meli Wami, Irish composer Brian Houston’s So That I Can Walk In Your Way, and American Gospel composer Hezekiah Walker’s Better! The chorus will continue its celebration of Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin’s enormous contribution to gospel music by singing the inspirational Never Gonna Break My Faith.

This program of songs of love and hope is guaranteed to lift your spirits!

WHEN: Saturday, March 2nd at 7:30 pm and Sunday, March 3rd at 3:30 pm

WHERE: Converse Hall, Tremont Temple, 88 Tremont Street, Boston (one block from Park Street T)

TICKETS: $20 (children under 10, free) available at www.mysticchorale.org

Praise Report: New England City Forum

On Thursday May 19th, the Emmanuel Gospel Center, Vision New England, and Greater Things for Greater Boston joined together to host the first New England City Forum.

It was an awesome time to learn a lot about how God is at work in our region, make some new friends, and be inspired and strengthened for our work in our own cities.

Linked below are a fun little summary video of our time together, and a set of pictures. Thanks to the Emmanuel Gospel Center for putting this together!
