The Prophet Project

The Prophet Project – a play in one act 

Following the storyline of Hosea and Gomer, and using only the words of the ancient Hebrew prophets, The Prophet Project is a visceral, beautiful retelling of God’s relentless love for humanity. Challenging and encouraging, disturbing and inspiring, it is an unique opportunity to grow in one’s own faith, as well as to invite non-Christian lovers of art, and to help Jewish friends see echoes of Christ in Scripture.
The 2013 production was awarded with the Making a Difference in Christian Service Award and the Eldin Villafañe Award for High Distinction in Christian Service, both from Gordon Conwell’s Boston Campus. Still Small is now reviving the production with a new cast, additional music, and updated design.
All performances will be followed by an optional talkback in which the audience can ask questions and have an informal discussion with the cast and creative team.

Pentecostal Tabernacle’s Honduras Benefit Concert

Join us for an evening of music as we celebrate God’s love for the world at our Honduras Benefit Concert! For the past six years, Pentecostal Tabernacle has partnered with World Resources Group (WRG), to send a missions team to Honduras to work with mentors who have devoted their lives to serving the youth in their communities. These trips have given us the opportunity to build relationships with the children, their families, and the dedicated Honduran mentors who serve them. This year, our missions team will depart for Honduras on July 28th, and proceeds from the concert will benefit their trip. Tickets are $10, and you must purchase one to attend this event.

THE SEND – FEBRUARY 23, 2019 in ORLANDO, FL

We are calling 60,000 people on 2/23/2019 to Camping World Stadium in Orlando, FL for a tipping point gathering to help spark the greatest era of evangelism and missions in history. This free event is open to the public and will be a day of activation and training to go and live the gospel.

Outreaches across Orlando will precede and follow the stadium day giving people a practical opportunity to share their faith and minister to those in need. Online platforms will also be unveiled to help people find missions opportunities and engage with further evangelistic trainings and activities.

From The Send we are believing for each participant to commit to adopt one of four “Mission Fields” – Universities, High Schools, Neighborhoods or Nations, and to commit to a season of focused prayer for America and the nations. The vision is to see a national campaign launched catalyzing every believer into a lifestyle of Christ-like action.

Boston’s Christians Use Technology For World Missions

This week, we’re privileged to have a guest blogger, Ken Arnold. Ken is studying at Harvard and the founding director of a new ministry that brings together tech and missions-minded leaders in Boston. It’s exciting to see how influential technology can be in impacting the nations!

On November 4-6, 2016, 1,426 technologists, developers, designers and mission workers in 28 cities and 16 nations around the world came together to build technology to support Christian missions, as part of an event called Indigitous #Hack. At our city’s event, 40 people gathered at the MIT Media Lab and formed six project teams to work on challenges posed by missions agencies. Projects included investigating the causes and consequences of youth sexting, configuring a portable router to distribute the Bible and other literature in remote areas, prototyping an app to connect people for spiritual mentoring, facilitating connections between Christians in Metro Boston, assisting people in searching for job opportunities abroad, and developing an information management system for a network of orphanages in Southeast Asia.

We worked late into the night. We worshipped and prayed together. We connected with cities around the world. Some of the things we built may already be in use in the mission field, while others explored an idea that may come to fruition years down the road. But the biggest impact was on our community. Nearly every Boston participant said the best part of the event was connecting with other believers and working with them towards God’s mission:

  • [It was] “fun to see other Christians come out of the woodwork, especially in a faith-hostile place like Boston where we are all hidden.”
  • “I’d never heard of any event like this that brought together technology and digitally minded Christians.”
