Awake Boston- with Sean McDowell

Awake Boston is  a two-night event designed to mobilize Christians toward awakening and renewal.

On October 24, 2025 at 6:00 PM Dr. Sean McDowell with lead a Master Class titled “If God, Why Evil”

The problem of evil and suffering is undoubtedly one of the greatest challenges raised against God. Christians must respond empathetically, but also with truth. Sean begins this session by providing a helpful road map for personally helping people who are suffering. He then tackles the intellectual challenge of evil, showing that the existence of evil itself is actually a positive proof for the existence of God, and that the so-called “problem of evil” does not pose a trenchant problem for the Christian faith.

An “Open Mic” Q&A time with Sean will immediately follow his presentation.

Transformational Listening: Soul Care Companions (TL1)

“I don’t want to walk away from God or my faith, but I don’t quite know how to walk with other Christians anymore…”

Perhaps you’ve said this yourself, had others confide something similar to you, or read in between the lines on social media posts. Whatever the case may be, this is something we hear & not just in the younger generations! When someone shares this with us, we don’t actually get discouraged, but hopeful. Hopeful, because we recognize the longing in them for a vulnerable relationship with God & one another that opens the door for true community. We believe one of the ways forward is through listening. But not just any listening, true contemplative & transformational listening that builds change & community. 10 years ago, we created our Transformational Listening: Soul Care Companions course with this in mind. Today it holds up to the test of time. Listening to God & one another makes a lasting difference. We can be contemplatives in action creating change in our inner lives with Christ & in our communities as we love one another. We have offered this course to church groups, organizations, & strangers that become lifelong friends. And now, we are offering it again to you. Will you join us?

Sanctuary is Sacred: Public Worship & Action for Immigration Justice

This Good Friday, April 18th at 4pm beginning at the Thomas O’Neill Federal Building downtown, Christians and people of faith will gather in prayer and protest, demanding protection for our immigrant neighbors and our communities.

Jesus’ birth was a story of migration and border-crossing. Jesus’ death was a confrontation with – and triumph over – the powers of empire and a radical, loving act of solidarity with the oppressed. In remembering Jesus’ story during Holy Week, we are called to be in solidarity with the crucified peoples of our present. This public worship and action calls on our state elected officials to protect our communities by passing the Dignity not Deportations Act and by getting ICE off of our streets and out of our churches. While this action will be rooted in the Christian tradition and practice of Stations of the Cross, people of all or no faith backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to attend.
