Trafficking 101

Trafficking 101 will take place via zoom on Saturday, March 5th from 10:00 to 12:00 pm. In our time together we will learn about trafficking here in the United States, unpack the difference between legalization and decriminalization of prostitution, and explore how the church can respond.  Most people are unaware that 70% of women who enter the sex trade are girls who have aged out of foster care. Most are unaware that the average age of entry in the United States is 12-years-old. And, most are unaware at what they can do about it. In this training you will learn all this and more. This training is lead by Rev. Bonnie Gatchell. founder and director of Route One Ministry. Route One has reached women sexually exploited for more than 12 years. Something New – Community Celebration and Album Concert

Join Caleb McCoy & friends as he performs his album, Render Unto Caesar. Caleb McCoy welcomes you alongside some amazing leaders in the city as we celebrate SOMETHING NEW! A new album, new community initiatives, and new and practical ways to get educated and get involved with restorative work in Boston. There will be a concert, networking and appetizers, and voices from the city who will edify and encourage us to get involved in different areas of civic engagement. This event will be at the Meeting House in Dorchester, and hosted by the Emmanuel Gospel Center.

Then, we’ll transition over to the virtual reality space of Topia where you can interact with your Admissions team and the various departments at Gordon-Conwell. Topia is a virtual reality platform that allows users to interact one on one through video conferencing.

Codman Square Can We Talk? is a trauma support program that offers a safe space for people to share their stories of loss, trauma, healing, and hope. This is also a space for listening, which is a way for offering support. This program is modeled after the Can We Talk? of the Cory Johnson Program for Post-Traumatic Healing.

This is made possible by a collaboration of Churches, community faith-based organizations, and neighbors from the Codman Square community.
