I am writing to invite you to a Single Release Concert and Poetry Night at Charles Street AME in Dorchester on June 14th at 7 pm.
I have been in the United Kingdom for the past 4 years at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland where I recently completed my PhD program.
My PhD graduation is on July 10th back in the UK which I will be attending. However, I don’t want to go alone. I want to return with my family (four of us). Unfortunately, I don’t have the funds to purchase four flight tickets and pay for hotel accommodation for the brief time in the UK. So, I decided to release a single I have been working on at a concert and poetry night. Attached is the flyer.
I will also be singing from my previous two gospel albums, reading from my upcoming book on Poetic Expressions as well as commenting on social and penal issues from my book: Locked Up and Locked Down: Multitude Lingers in Limbo Revised Edition. Single Release Concert and Poetry Night at Charles Street AME
Join us for an evening of music as we celebrate God’s love for the world at our Honduras Benefit Concert! For the past six years, Pentecostal Tabernacle has partnered with World Resources Group (WRG), to send a missions team to Honduras to work with mentors who have devoted their lives to serving the youth in their communities. These trips have given us the opportunity to build relationships with the children, their families, and the dedicated Honduran mentors who serve them. This year, our missions team will depart for Honduras on July 28th, and proceeds from the concert will benefit their trip. Tickets are $10, and you must purchase one to attend this event.

An ecumenical transformance: Holy Family parish is pleased to host composer Yosef Kottlerin gathering Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox, & Jews to celebrate our common roots while honoring each other’s paths through a prayer so common to us.
There are two ways to participate:
1. Just come to the event itself on May 19th
2. In addition to that, join the event choir, which involves also coming to rehearsal at Holy Family on May 13th, 7:30-9pm.
In the composer’s words: An uplifting journey into song & spirit—accompanied by a rhythmic jazz ensemble & interfaith chorale…Our goal is to connect in a deep way with each other and with all who join us. As we pray the music and sing the prayer, we affirm the power of love to make the world a better place. We envision each concert as a “Transformance” through which we share the transformational power of the Lord’s Prayer as a way to honor our relationships with each other and our world.

OPEN TO MUSICIANS AND NON-MUSICIANS ALIKE!
The Mystic Chorale, one of Greater Boston’s favorite community choruses, presents its annual Gospel concert. Led by award-winning gospel director Jonathan Singleton, the 250-voices-strong chorale and 5-piece band presents two joyful and spirit-filled performances featuring a mix of music rooted in the African American gospel tradition.
This year’s exciting program includes an eclectic mix of gospel sourced from all around the world, including the Soweto Gospel Choir’s Woza Meli Wami, Irish composer Brian Houston’s So That I Can Walk In Your Way, and American Gospel composer Hezekiah Walker’s Better! The chorus will continue its celebration of Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin’s enormous contribution to gospel music by singing the inspirational Never Gonna Break My Faith.
This program of songs of love and hope is guaranteed to lift your spirits!
