Join the team at The Garden Church Boston!

The Garden Church is a small but vibrant community of everyday people being shaped by and sharing the love of Jesus in Boston’s South End and beyond. Our community is growing, and we’re looking for a new Kids’ Ministry Lead to help nurture and grow our ministry with little ones! In this part-time role (10 hours per week), you will prepare playful and enriching curriculum for Sunday Kids’ Church, offer training and encouragement to volunteers, and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our kids and families. We are looking for someone who’s passionate about sharing God’s love with kids and families, and who can bring care, organization, and reliability to the role. At The Garden Church, we are committed to creating a safe, joyful, and spiritually enriching space for kids to encounter the love of Jesus—and we’d love for you to join us!

The Green Book Tour

The Boston Green Book Tour

Presented by The Boston Faith & Justice Network in Partnership with Rev. June Cooper

Join us for an immersive walking tour exploring Boston’s history through the lens of The Green Book, the essential travel guide for Black motorists during the Jim Crow era. Published from 1936 to 1967, The Green Book identified businesses and establishments that welcomed African American travelers, ensuring their safety in a segregated America.

Led by Rev. June Cooper, a Social Justice Educator, Activist, and Theologian, this tour will highlight 8-10 historical sites in the South End and Lower Roxbury that appeared in The Green Book between 1935-1969. Participants will gain deeper insights into Boston’s Black history, the resilience of its communities, and the significance of these spaces in the fight for racial justice.

Event Highlights

  • Guided walking tour featuring key Boston locations listed in The Green Book.
  • A bibliography of recommended readings and videos provided before the tour.
  • Reproductions of The Green Book (selected years) available for sale.
  • Tour led by Rev. June Cooper, who has been conducting these tours since 2021 for corporations, non-profits, congregations, and schools.

  • Lunch Included: We will enjoy a meal at Slade’s Bar and Grill, a historic Black-owned restaurant featured in The Green Book between 1935-1939, known for its soul food and welcoming atmosphere.

Singles Christian Ministry – Boston Area

Meet Christian Singles from all over the Boston area at 1) in-person dinners or 2) facilitated video calls from the convenience of your home.

“I prefer ‘in-person events”, says Rebekah who founded www.SingleSocials.com in St. Louis in 2014, “but with the 2020 hectic lifestyle of so many in Boston, the parking, and the traffic, I wanted to offer video conferencing introductions as well.”

The ministry www.SingleSocials.com started when Rebekah was working alongside Christian singles at her church and watching them care so well for the body of Christ and hearing them talk about how hard it was to be able to meet and date other Christians. Her passion to help today is the same as it was then but she also has the knowledge she has gained since 2014.

Rebekah is a Boston area mom of three awesome kids and is happily married to her husband of 18 years who shares her passion to help others.

For more information or to sign up, visit www.singlesocials.com  All the best in 2020!
