Now accepting applications for Boston Fellows ’21.

God has a province for you to oversee in his kingdom.

Do you know what it is? Do you have the biblical framework to find out? The practical spiritual disciplines necessary to stay the course when you do? A space to discuss it, peers to walk with you, in discernment? More experienced people to mentor you?

Boston Fellows is a nine-month fellowship for professionals seeking to cultivate the insights and spiritual habits necessary for meaningful vocation. You’ll learn and walk with a cohort of peers, spiritual leaders, and professional mentors. We are now accepting applications for Fall 2020.
Learn more and apply: www.BostonFellows.com. The July 1 deadline has been extended, so be sure to apply today!

“Faith, Art and Symbolism” with Jonathan Pageau

Christianity offers a wealth of images, stories and symbolic structures. This imagery is not only a kind of cultural treasure, but is also a matrix of engagement with reality.  We will plunge into the basic narrative of Scripture and how this translates into everything from Christian art, architecture, storytelling and music, all acting together as a matrix of human participation.

Part 1: How Christian Narrative is a world pattern

Christianity offers a wealth of images, stories and symbolic structures. Part 2:  What then should we create today?

We will look at the relevance of Christian narrative in the contemporary world, at how it permeates even secular arts and culture.  We will also look at how the Christian artist can engage their creations within the basic pattern of Christ without giving into superficial affect or propagandist discourse.

This event is presented by Boston Fellows, in collaboration with Orthodoxy on Tap, a ministry of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston.

Registration is $15 and includes lunch.

In order to reserve your spot, please RSVP by Thursday, Feb 13.

Your Calling to Raise Children

“It takes a village to raise a child.”
– African proverb
God gives the primary responsibility of raising kids to their parents, but he calls all of us to help.
  • What does the Bible actually say about raising children?
  • What does that look like in the challenges of 21st-century America?
  • How do parents marshal resources to meet those challenges?
  • What is the role of extended family members, godparents, faith parents/spiritual parents, volunteer youth workers, family friends?
Join us for a discussion with parents, future parents, and everyone else, about this foundational responsibility in the church and the community, led by Theresa Nelson. Author, Speaker, Board Member

Pick and Stick: Neighborhood-based Community Development

“Good ideas” are as common as easy chairs.

Functioning models, that are actually changing individual lives and neighborhoods? Much harder to find.

Join us to hear Cynthia Wallace tell about God at work in the Homewood neighborhood of Pittsburgh, and here in Boston.

Ordinary people took basic steps and made a difference. You can too.

Registration is $10 and includes lunch.

In order to reserve your spot, please RSVP by March 13.

Cynthia M. Wallace, Ed.D. is the Executive Pastor of Bible Center Church in Pittsburgh, PA, and the Executive Director of The Oasis Project, the community and economic development division of Bible Center Church. She recently joined the national faculty for Made to Flourish, equipping pastors to help their congregations understand God’s perspective on economics and the connection between faith and work. Cynthia has been married for more than thirty years and is the mother of four adult children.

Cohort Launch: Christ-Followers & STEM

  • Is STEM important to the Kingdom of God? Is my work at odds with my Christian calling?
  • Is work part of “the curse”?
  • How can I integrate my spiritual life and my work life? Can I share my faith at work?
  • Will I find joy and relevance in my STEM career?

The STEM cohort, by Boston Fellows and in partnership with Gospel and Tech, will address these questions and more. This nine-week program begins with a 24-hour “camp-in” February 15-16, 2019, followed by eight weekly meetings.

Learn more and apply here.
