This 30-minute documentary explores the contributions, experiences, and enduring faith of Black Catholics.

An Advent Procession of Hope and Hospitality

“Say to those who are of a fearful heart, ‘Be strong! Do not fear! Here is your God!’” — Isaiah 35:4

This Advent, churches across Massachusetts will gather for Las Posadas para Los Inmigrantes de Massachusetts, a vibrant, bilingual celebration that lifts up the hope of the Holy Family’s journey and honors immigrant communities throughout the Commonwealth.

Las Posadas is a traditional Mexican prayer processional commemorating Mary and Joseph’s search for room at the inn. Many Caribbean, Central American, and South American Christian traditions also celebrate similar processions, and all are warmly invited to join this joyful expression of shared faith and solidarity.

⏰ Processional begins at 6:00 PM • Festival Celebration at 7:30 PM
📍 Start: Copley Plaza, Boston • End: Cathedral Church of St. Paul (138 Tremont St.)

What to Expect:

  • A bilingual (English–Spanish) Advent prayer processional

  • Singing, Scripture, and community liturgy

  • A walk from Copley Plaza to the Cathedral Church of St. Paul

  • A festival celebration featuring food, music, and a piñata

  • Family-friendly fun — wear your halos, angel wings, and Holy Family costumes!

Las Posadas is a reminder that when we share, there is room enough for all. This event supports the Massachusetts Council of Churches’ ministry with immigrant churches across the state.

Pilgrimage to Taizé Community in France in March 2026

Spend March 13–22, 2026 immersed in the Taizé Community — an ecumenical monastic community in the French countryside known for its simple living, contemplative worship, and a radical commitment to Christian unity. Each year, thousands of young adults from around the world gather there to pray through music, engage in Scripture, serve together, and build deep friendships across cultural and denominational lines.

This pilgrimage is for young adults ages 18–35. We’re hoping to bring a group of Christian pilgrims from many different traditions across Greater Boston and beyond!

Hosted by Rev. Rita Powell, Episcopal Chaplain at Harvard University, with Rev. Kelly Fassett from UniteBoston co-hosting this experience.

The cost for the pilgrimage is $2200. We will do what we can to make sure finances are not a barrier for anyone who feels God’s invitation to join in this experience.

United Gospel Experience Tour

Our finale concert for the 2025-2026 United Gospel Experience Tour will be on Saturday April 18 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Morningstar Baptist Church, 1257 Blue Hill Ave, Mattapan, MA 02126.

Centered on the theme “Come together, stay together, worship together” (Mt. 18:20), the tour centers on Jesus’ promise that “where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” In these challenging times, our prayer is that, through this united worship, God’s Spirit will move mightily to bring healing, reconciliation, and new life. We’ve discovered that when students from across New England join their voices in one choir, gospel music rises as a powerful proclamation of hope and freedom.
