Reflecting and Reimagining: An Evening of Storytelling, Story-listening & Cultivating Our Prophetic Imagination

Whether you are a long time friend of BFJN, have been with us on our year-long journey with housing justice or are new to us and this work, this evening is for you. We’ll hear powerful stories, share what we’ve learned, and explore how our faith calls us to confront injustice and build a world where everyone can thrive.

This event also serves as a critical fundraiser to sustain our work and ensure we can continue to serve vulnerable communities in meaningful ways and call and equip Christians to serve, learn and advocate in pursuit of a more just world. Your presence and contribution will help us continue and expand this vital mission.  We look forward to sharing this time of reflection and reimagination with you!

Christian Nationalism Symposium

Join us for a powerful weekend at Second Church in Newton’s Contemporary Issues series as we examine one of the most urgent challenges facing faith and democracy today: Christian Nationalism.

We are honored to host three nationally recognized leaders for this symposium:

  • Katherine Stewart — Investigative journalist and New York Times best-selling author who has spent the last sixteen years documenting the rise of Christian Nationalism with unparalleled depth and clarity.

  • Rev. Rob Schenck — Former high-level Christian Nationalist insider who worked with U.S. Presidents, Congress, and the Supreme Court. His testimony offers a rare and invaluable perspective on the political dimensions of the movement.

  • Rev. Janna Louie — A leader in the Christians Against Christian Nationalism movement, equipping communities across the country to educate, advocate, and organize for justice and truth.

 Schedule:

  • Friday, October 10 at 6:30 PM – Opening session

  • Saturday, October 11 – Full-day sessions

  • Sunday, October 12 at 12:00 PM – Closing

Detailed bios and resources will be available on our Facebook page and church website. Registrants will also receive schedules, materials, and updates before and after the event.

Registration: Sign up through the Zeffy platform. Optional donations go directly toward supporting the Contemporary Issues series.

This symposium will be a time of learning, courage, and collective action. We invite you to come, listen, and engage as together we confront this pressing issue for the Church and society.
