Ministry Opportunity with
Forest Hills Covenant Church (Boston, Mass.)
Forest Hills Covenant Church is a multi-ethnic, intergenerational, and Christ-centered church in Boston, a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church and recipient of the East Coast Conference MOVE Award.We are seeking two music ministers to lead our congregation in dynamic and authentic worship that reflects the variety of the “heart music” of our people including hymns, gospel, and contemporary worship music.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Successful candidates for both positions will love Jesus deeply and will lead music in thoughtful blended worship. Successful candidates will be passionate about worship and ministry, and will have strong experience in and being willing to work as a team with pastoral staff and volunteers. They will also have strong Christian commitment in keeping with the Covenant Affirmations (www.bostoncov.org/aboutourfaith). While this position is a lay position, as a ministry leader, adherence to Ethical Guidelines for Covenant Ministers (www.covchurch.org/resources/ethical-principles) is expected.
We are open to one person filling both positions if they are able.

Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will demonstrate that he or she:
Has strong experience leading a variety of styles of worship as an excellent instrumentalist and vocalist;
Is a leader who cares about people and brings a fresh enthusiasm to this position.MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Plan music for worship with direction from Sr. Pastor and in collaboration with others.
Build and lead volunteer worship teams by recruiting, mentoring, developing and encouraging team members.
Lead the Sunday worship services, while also developing other team members to lead worship.
Meet weekly with Sr. Pastor and team and communicate music plans to church administrative assistance each week.
Provide other accompaniment as needed. .
Plan and lead music on one weekend retreat each year.
Salary is $650/month, 8-10 hours/week
REPORT TO: Senior Pastor
COORDINATE: Volunteers

Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will demonstrate that he or she is:
Gifted in playing the piano/keyboard in worship, with good sight-reading skills and ability to accompany hymns as well as praise songs and gospel music;
A skilled choir director in a variety of musical styles including gospel, hymns and anthems;MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Lead the choir in mid-week rehearsals, Sunday morning worship 1-2x/month, and occasional other services.
Lead children’s ministry to sing in 3-4 services a year.
Order music and maintain music library, and ensure compliance with copyright laws.
Provide other accompaniment as needed.Salary is $650/month, 8-10 hours/week
