Director of Men’s Services
Job Description
Status: Full-time, 32 hours
Reports To: Executive DirectorGeneral Description: The Director is responsible for the provision of crisis counseling and associated services to men clients at the Boston Pregnancy Center.
Qualifications
1. Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and an ability to share the Gospel and personal testimony.
2. Exhibit strong dedication and commitment to the sanctity of all human life, while also having compassion and respect for women and men who have chosen abortion.
3. Agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Faith, Standards of Affiliation and policies of ministry.
4. Have a license in Counseling or related field, or have a Master’s Degree in Counseling or related field and be working towards licensure, or have equivalent field experience in counseling preferred.
5. Exhibit good written and oral communication skills.
6. Is a self-starter, able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision.
7. Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, encouragement, and direction when needed for interns and peer counselors.Major Responsibilities
1. Provide crisis counseling and related services for male clients, while also ensuring that accurate and uniform information is recorded and reported.
2. Assists with hotline as needed.
3. Provide training for male volunteer counselors.
4. Provide trainings and/or presentations in the community as needed.
5. Provide oversight and maintenance of mentoring programs. Trains mentors and provides ongoing supervision of mentors.
6. Ensure that accurate statistics are compiled and reported for crisis counseling services.
7. Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of resource manuals and materials pertaining to men’s crisis care.
8. Conduct support groups and post-abortion counseling as needed.
9. Attend staff meetings or retreats as necessary.
10. Participate in major fundraisers or as a representative of BPC at various events. -
