Assistant Director of Children’s Ministries
Trinity Church is a vibrant and forward-looking Episcopal Church on Copley Square in Boston’s thriving Back Bay neighborhood. The parish is searching for a part-time Assistant Director of Children’s Ministries to continue building our vital program of ministry to and with the children of the parish. The Assistant Director works closely with the Director of Children’s Ministries and a lay Children’s Ministries Committee. This is an hourly, non-exempt position for 19 hours per week without benefits except defined paid sick time. Sunday is a work day; other work days to be mutually agreed to.
The Assistant Director serves as the coordinator of Family Programs, and the responsibilities include:
• Assisting Director of Children’s Ministries in all Sunday morning Children’s Ministries’ activities
• Planning, preparing and managing Family Program events
• Recruiting and overseeing volunteers for Family Program events
• Expanding and deepening hospitality to new families in Children’s Ministries
• Coordinating occasional Sunday Parent Forums
• Working to support the Director of Children’s Ministries in:
Calendar planning
Budget preparation and monitoring
Family database maintenance
Preparing Children’s Sunday bulletins
Preparing seasonal bulletins
Producing “Holy Happenings,” the weekly parents’ e-letter
Connecting all family information with the communications Department
Overseeing Children’s Ministries Committee
Producing Christmas Pageant
Planning and executing Family WeekendAmong the skills we are looking for in an Assistant Director of Children’s Ministries are:
• Love for God. Love for Jesus Christ.
• Love of children
• Experience working with children
• Appreciation and understanding of children’s spirituality
• Enthusiasm and energy
• Creativity in programming
• Ability to work well with colleagues in Christian Formation Ministries
