The Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) mission:
The Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) finds adoptive homes for children and teens in foster care. MARE develops public awareness and recruitment programs to inform the public about the children in need of permanency through adoption, support families in pursuing adoption from foster care, and facilitate matches of adoptive families. MARE specializes in the recruitment of adoptive families for teens, children of color, sibling groups, LGBTQ+ identified youth, and those with complex medical and developmental needs. Position Summary:
The Director of Child Services drives the work of the agency’s largest team, working to provide child recruitment services to over 600 children and youth in foster care. Major responsibilities include supervision of 5-7 program staff/interns, oversight of child recruitment programs including child referrals, child profiling, matching, and adoption Meet & Greets and matching events. The Director of Child Services is responsible for exploration and development of additional child recruitment programing, provision of quality assurance measures, and implementation of agency’s strategic planning goals. The Director of Child Services is a key relationship builder within the DCF community statewide to increase MARE’s impact.
