We’d like to be intentional about growing in our relationships with God and with our housemates, praying together, taking time to rest, making time for one another, and learning to communicate well.We envision “Community” as a group of people committed to living life together – sharing space and time, friends, stories, spiritual gifts, practical skills and resources. Hospitality is a HUGE value: We’d like our home to be a place that we feel very comfortable, and a place we really want to invite people to. Neighbors, Boston friends and old friends/visitors from out of town are all very welcome.
We have scheduled prayer time once a week. Currently this falls on Sunday evenings, but we can change that if another time works best for everyone. And of course, there is spontaneous prayer, house church and worship nights.
Also, humans gotta eat, and nothing beats table fellowship. We share some groceries (depends on people’s allergies, major restrictions, love/ hates) and will be part of a Community Supported Agriculture share during the summer. Due to busy schedules, we don’t have a formally scheduled dinner time, but we like to make extra food/baked goods and they tend to disappear amazingly quickly. ; )
Things we like to do:
Board games, gardening, hosting house concerts and worship nights, going out dancing, crafts, art, music, dance, the occasional movie, or just sitting or standing around chatting, walks/runs/bikes at the lovely park, zoo, arboretum, forest hills cemetery, etcEmail Akua at sistergraf@gmail.com if this interests you and you want to have a more detailed conversations about this community.
Dedo DokuGuestDear Akua,
My name is Dedo Doku. I recently graduated from Wellesley College, and I will be interning with Cru, the U.S. chapter of Campus Crusades for Christ for the coming year.
I saw your post for room mates on the Unite Boston newsletter. I would be really interested in joining your community. I have a few questions:
Where exactly is the house, please? How easy is it to get to South Station (which is where I will be working primarily)? Would I be in a single or required to share a room with someone? Would it be possible to arrange a viewing/meeting with the other housemates? It is an all-women house?
Looking forward to your response.
– Dedo
