IMMEDIATE HIRE: SECOND GRADE CLASSROOM TEACHER
New Covenant School is seeking a 2nd Grade classroom teacher with the passion and vision to see our school continue to fulfill its mission to equip students to follow Jesus and serve in his kingdom by grounding them in godly wisdom and love and by training them to excel in a life of learning, leadership, and service. A qualified candidate exemplifies character traits of joy, integrity, flexibility, initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness; has a vibrant and deepening walk with Jesus, and has a passion to help children grow into all God wants them to be. Preferred candidates are interesting people who navigate life from a Biblical perspective, respect the God-given value of others, have multiple talents, and are great team players. The Second Grade classroom teacher is intentional about Christian character formation, plans lessons that maximize engagement of all students and inspires them to produce high-quality work, and implements curriculum that teaches content and skills in the context of meaningful, relevant, service-oriented projects. Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred 2. Classroom teaching experience of 1-2 years preferred 3. Experience with Math in Focus (Singapore Math) and Lucy Calkins curriculum desired.
Position is full-time for the 2021-22 academic year. NCS offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Salary is commensurate with experience. Founded in 1985, New Covenant School is a private, non-denominational Christian day school with campuses in Arlington and Lexington, MA, serving children in Preschool through Grade 5. NCS is a pilot school for the professional development of invention education curriculum for elementary students in Massachusetts and is a member of Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Teach for Transformation (TfT).
