Tremont Temple Balcony Restoration Project – Volunteer Day

July 19 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Free

Tremont Temple Baptist Church is a historically influential church in the heart of downtown Boston. With a seating capacity of 1752, the main sanctuary is one of the largest Christian worship spaces in Boston.  Unfortunately, the upper balcony is largely unused because nearly 800 seats are in poor condition and need to be reupholstered.  A team of us are coordinating a major restoration project that will employ formerly incarcerated individuals to do the bulk of the work.

We are sponsoring a volunteer day on July 19 to clean the iron frames of the seats.

We are also looking for financial sponsors to help fund the project. Every gift of $250 or above will be recognized with a name plate attached to a seat as was done in 1896!
