A Christian Response to the Global Refugee Crisis

March 28, 2017 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

These are incredibly challenging times for our nation. Society is deeply dived over many issues, including questions on immigration and refugee resettlement. As Christian leaders we are compelled to live into our calling of welcoming the stranger and living out biblical principles of compassion. But how do we balance compassion with safety? And how do we separate political rhetoric from the facts?

In partnership with Grace Chapel and the Greater Boston Refugee Ministry, World Relief is hosting a special event on Tuesday, March 28. Special Speaker Matthew Soerens, author of Seeking Refuge: On the Shores of the Refugee Crisis, will help to separate fact from fiction, answer questions, and provide practical applications for living out our faith in response to this crisis.

Come learn how you and your church can missionally engage with and respond to the refugee crisis, both in the Middle East and right here in our community. Childcare will be provided.

Please RSVP by March 21 to Grace Man, Director of Church Partnerships, at gman@wr.org or 901.692.4879. If you have a specific question you would like to ask, or if you would like childcare, please include it with your RSVP.
