In the next meetup of Christians for Biblical Equality, Greater Boston Chapter, we'll examine key passages in Genesis that inform our understanding of men and women as equal partners in God's kingdom. For example, what are the implications of the order of creation? What's a "help meet"? And how do we understand the curse in Genesis 3? After our discussion, we'll spend some time catching up and praying for one another. Coffee and light snacks will be provided.

The Old Testament includes the accounts of many remarkable women leaders, from Deborah to Huldah to Esther. In the next meetup of Christians for Biblical Equality's Greater Boston Chapter, we will examine the experiences of some of these often-overlooked women and discuss how God has called women to lead even in patriarchal societies. We will also spend some time sharing and praying for one another. Light snacks and coffee will be provided.

The statement "Women should remain silent in the churches" in 1 Corinthians 14:34 is often used to justify excluding women from prominent church roles, including preaching. However, a closer look shows that, just a few chapters earlier, women are affirmed for speaking up and prophesying (1 Cor 11:5-6). What's up with that? We'll take a close look at this passage and discuss. We'll also spend some time praying together. Coffee and muffins will be provided.
