    Director of Internal Systems
The Emmanuel Gospel Center (EGC) is looking for a Director of Internal Systems
(DIS) to join the EGC team as a senior leader. EGC’s mission is to strengthen
Christian Leaders to serve urban communities. EGC takes time to learn how the
city, the church, and their related systems are changing; we connect with the
people involved to build strong working relationships; and we equip where it is
most strategic, providing teaching, training, tools and resources for effective
    ministry.

Following a recent move of our offices from the South End to Codman Square in
Dorchester, a year of internal and external strategic listening, the disruption of the
pandemic, and ongoing social challenges, EGC’s seeks to refocus and grow its work
as a learning organization, where applied research drives effective action through
targeted initiatives and prophetic storytelling. The board is in the process of
articulating EGC’s strategic plan for FY22 and beyond, and we are undertaking some
significant transitions to prepare for this next season of effective ministry and
growth. The DIS is a new position, expanding on work currently done by the
Executive Director, that will play a key role in leading and shaping EGC’s central
    functions as EGC grows.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Internal Systems (DIS) is
responsible to oversee, develop, and ensure the effective working of systems and
staff leadership in EGC’s central functions, including Operations, Development,
Communications, and Community/Culture. The DIS will be part of the senior staff
leadership team which also includes the Executive Director and the Director of
    Applied Research, Consulting and Initiatives.

The DIS has a strong history of developing leaders as well as building new and
improving existing work systems so that staff members are empowered in their
work, dysfunctions are appropriately addressed, routine functions become
consistently routine, and challenges are effectively navigated. They are eager to
help lead the healthy and sustainable growth of EGC through their participation on
the staff leadership team and their oversight of EGC’s central systems.

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The DIS will report to the Executive Director (ED) and will be responsible for the
    following duties:
    • Oversee the work and leadership development of direct reports in
    Operations, Development, Communications, and Community/Culture.
    • In Operations:
o Develop operations systems, including HR systems, office
    management, tech management, and finances.
o Oversee EGC’s budget and effective implementation of EGC’s financial
    systems.
    • In Development and Communications:
    o Develop fundraising systems.
o Support the development of communications systems that serve both
    marketing and missional work
o Ensure the effective interconnection of EGC systems, as development
and communications work in concert with each other and with
    research and initiative communications.
    • In Community/Culture: Develop EGC’s community and cultural systems for
the healthy growth of EGC as a multiethnic, diverse community.
    • As a member of the Leadership Team, work with the ED and Director of
Applied Research, Consulting, and Initiatives to oversee the strategic
implementation of EGC’s mission, to ensure effective coordination across the
organization, and to be involved as appropriate in addressing critical issues
    as they arise.

    • Ten years of relevant executive leadership experience or senior-level
    experience managing projects and people.
    • Strong skill and experience in developing systems and people. Able to make
dysfunctional, functional and new systems increasingly functional and
routine. Able to help staff members grow and thrive in their roles.
    • Experience with fundraising, budgets, systems development, people
    development, organizational development.

choosing to work from home full-time, and most of our team and staff meetings
take place over Zoom, Miro or by phone. We have strict guidelines and protocols
for those that do work in office and are committed to the safety and wellbeing of
our entire staff. We are working on a reopening plan and anticipate moving to a
