Connections Manager

Vision New England (VNE) is a diverse network of 1000+ ministries and exists to accelerate evangelism by making disciples who do justice and share Jesus … to transform New England and our world!

Jesus tells us that unity and doing justice is evangelistic (John 17:21, Matt. 5:16) so our top priority is to build unity, across traditional divides, most especially race and ethnicity, while enabling sharing, learning and collaboration, to do justice.

We accelerate this work by connecting leaders and churches, with targeted groups and technology, where they share, learn and collaborate to “make disciples who do justice and share Jesus,” while building relationships that lead to real unity in the Church. There is much to do but we’re excited to see God move in it already!

This full-time role, based at home or your church, is responsible for planning, hosting and facilitating all of our in-person “Forums” and online “Roundtables” serving African-American Pastors, Denomination Leaders, Early Career Leaders, Large Church Pastors, Latino Pastors, New England Leaders, Urban Ministry Leaders, Women in Christian Leadership, etc.

Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Managing logistics for VNE’s physical and virtual (Zoom) gatherings for each group, typically range from six to 30 but can be over 100, including planning, hosting, outreach, registration, meals, accommodations, facilitation, speakers and metrics reporting.
  • Partnering with local church teams to plan and host larger events to connect the churches in a region.
  • Working with each group’s “Steering Committee” to craft agendas for gatherings.
  • While doing the above, minister to people on our team and in our network with regular personal prayer, leading prayer, attending team prayer, praying with individuals one-on-one, sharing devotionals, encouraging with Bible references and responding to prompts of the Holy Spirit in ministering to them.

Required Qualifications, Gifts, Strengths

  •  Affirms the traditional creeds of the Christian faith and VNE’s beliefs, e.g. affirm the authority of Scripture, the need for surrender to our Savior, that Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was the full payment for our sins, and that our faith must take action to be real.
  • Lives the traditional beliefs of the Christian faith in our personal and ministry lives, reflecting the love of Jesus to others with authentic passion and calling to this ministry, an unwavering commitment to Jesus Christ demonstrated through Christian maturity and practices, integrity and service, the ability to separate the “majors from the minors” to be able to build relationships with a diverse network of leaders while still being recognized as part of the same faith tradition.
  • Detail oriented self-starter who is motivated by accomplishing tasks and the shared goals of our mission, with both team and individual contributor projects.
  • Proven ability to work well and collaborate with others in a team environment as well as independently.
  • High “say/do” ratio in a lean organization. Energized and energizing to others.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency, critical thinking and creativity.
  • Remote office capabilities allowing for professional video meetings, with the relevant equipment, to work effectively and efficiently, from New England. Able to travel to events and team meetings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications, Gifts, Strengths

  • Proficiency with digital tools such as Google Docs, Zoom, EventBrite.
