Hello! I’m looking to fill two rooms in an apartment south of Porter Square, in Somerville, as two of my roommates are moving out after a few years here. The lease starts on 9/1, though one room is already open and the other will be open mid-August if you’re interested in an early move-in.
About the place:
First floor (up a short set of stairs, as is typical for Somerville)
About 15 minutes southeast of Porter Square, which has a Red Line T stop and a shopping plaza (which has a Michael’s, Target, Shaw’s (grocery story), bookstore, etc)
About 15 minutes south of the Magoun Square Green Line T stop
About 5 minutes from yet another Shaw’s
Super-friendly and responsive landlady, who comes by to fix things at the apartment herself (well, mind you)
In-unit washer and dryer
Photos of common spaces (there’s also a basement with shared storage)
Great quiet area, at a dead end street, so a bit away from any traffic
No pets, unfortunatelyAbout the open rooms:
There are two open rooms, one smaller for $920 and one larger for $1010. Prices were determined from approximate square footage split.
The smaller room comes furnished with a bed, desk, and dressers.
The larger room comes furnished with a bed, desk and dressers, and has bay windows.Utilities (internet, electric, gas) are typically in the $200-$450 range, depending on the season.
About me: I’m a 31-year-old male research engineer. I studied and now work at MIT, working from home about half time. I cook pretty regularly, do ceramic art on the side, bike/walk everywhere, and currently attend Park Street Church.
I’m looking for respectful, clean, non-smoking roommates, preferably students or young-ish professionals, but not required.
Please reach out at hoseasiu@mit.edu if interested, and I’d be happy to discuss further and/or give you a tour!
Best,
Hosea
