Nurturing Relational Connections Across Boston's Christian Community
A one-of-a-kind event for the Boston area, RISE presents artists from five distinct First Nations (Native American/Alaska Native tribes) who will share original music, cultural histories, and personal stories on the themes of survival, resilience, hope and healing. You are sure to be inspired! These students have all been part of the “Would Jesus Eat Frybread?” conference, an initiative of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship that seeks to help Native students understand their cultural identity in light of the Gospel. At this concert, they will share how their journey of faith in Jesus has intersected with their passion for healing their cultures from historic trauma.
Proceeds of the concert entirely benefit the WJEF Studio, which allows young First Nations artists to create and record music that reflects their spiritual and political experience as Native people who have survived into the 21st century and who are leading their people to a thriving future through the hope they have found in Christ.
