OPERATIONS MANAGER (Part-Time)
Hospitality Common Inc (HCI) seeks a detail-oriented, enthusiastic Operations Manager with experience creating efficient systems to manage the operations of our organization. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring HCI operates with excellence across a variety of administrative and financial activities. The Operations Manager will enjoy a positive, trusting, team-oriented work environment and the opportunity to learn new skills as the organization grows. This person will have ownership of a wide range of responsibilities and strong support from a supervisor committed to their success.

Overview
The Operations Manager provides leadership to HCI’s day-to-day functioning; develops HCI’s management knowledge and capacity in areas such as finances and financial management, human resources, and facility management; and ensures appropriate support to various aspects of the organization’s operations. We are in a growth phase, as such, we seek self-directed, motivated, and strategic thinkers who are able to adapt as our organization shifts and grows; who are highly organized systems thinkers, and who bring experience in developing protocols and organizing processes.
Tasks
• Oversee the development, implementation, and documentation of financial management policies and procedures for HCI’s general fund and all programs and cost centers. This includes general and program budget oversight, expense payment and reimbursements, and financial operations, including cash management, bank reconciliations, sending wires, and coordinating the audit process.
• Oversee the development, implementation, and documentation of Human Resource (HR) policies and procedures related to hiring, screening, position development, staff evaluation, benefits, and termination of employees, interns, and volunteers. Help grow HCIs knowledge and capacity related to HR.
• Serve as liaison with GFCC and other partner organizations overseeing the maintenance of facilities that HCI utilizes, including managing insurance, overseeing building use and rental, overseeing inventory control, engaging contractors for repairs (if appropriate), and supervising custodial work in a cost-effective way.
• Provide basic support around IT issues, including coordinating IT services, troubleshooting daily problems, setting up new computers and managing server access as necessary, and managing office machines such as copiers as necessary.
• Advise the Executive Director on the strategic direction of HCI, as appropriate.
• Support general organizational priorities and activities.
• Perform other duties consistent with the above as assigned by the Executive Director.
• Supervise, facilitate and/or perform receptionist, bookkeeper, and custodial functions.
Required Skills, Credentials and Experience
• Bachelors Degree with preferably a minimum of 5-7 years of operational management experience including business administration, program/project management, preferably in a nonprofit or philanthropic foundation setting.
• Strong relational skills, including the ability to work across a variety of cultures and formats, including business and ministry.
• Cultural competency in working and interacting with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Strong financial management, planning, systems, and controls, including managing accounts payable and receivable and ensuring proper systems for bookkeeping.
• Basic knowledge of best practices, legal, accounting, and regulatory requirements for nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organizations.
• Ability to implement and manage strategic initiatives, including supporting policies and procedures and governance protocols.
• Ability to bring administrative leadership that strengthens and enhances HCI’s mission and principles.
• Strong computer skills including, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, accounting/payroll software, database management systems, and ability to prepare data displays and reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer-service orientation. Strong judgment, analytical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Team player with the ability to work independently, focused, and self-directed. Motivated to pursue professional development in areas of responsibility.
• Interact effectively and maintain positive working relationships with staff, board members, partners, and clients.
• Pass a criminal background check (CORI).

Job Description
ENGLISH SECOND LANGUAGE INSTRUCTOR (Part-Time)
Hospitality Common Inc (HCI) seeks a skilled and engaging English Second Language (ESL) Instructor to serve as the lead teacher in our ESL program. The ESL Instructor will also be responsible for providing principal leadership in the development of our ESL curriculum.

The ESL Instructor will supervise and provide English language lessons to adult non-native speakers; prepare course materials and design lessons that cover all aspects of the English language, whether written or verbal; keep track of student progress and customize individualized plans for students with special requirements; responsible for creating a positive class environment and encouraging students to reach their learning goals.
Tasks
• Organize coursework and learning materials.
• Assign homework and exams.
• Assess student progress and document with written reports.
• Follow national and regional policies for teaching English language learners.
• Research new teaching methods for teaching English language learners.
• Maintain records of student attendance and grades.
• Ability to handle and mitigate learning and classroom challenges.
• Provide direction, oversight, and collaborative environment for other ESL staff (volunteer and other) to ensure a positive learning experience for students.
Required Skills, Credentials & Experience
• Degree in English and an ESL or TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification desired.
• Basic software skills, usually MS Office, to complete administrative tasks, such as updating student records.
• Patient and resilient personality and great communication skills.
