Nurturing Relational Connections Across Boston's Christian Community
Join us on Tuesday, November 28 for the final Dean’s Forum of 2023!
For decades now, evangelicals have implicitly (and sometimes explicitly) privileged and prioritized ministry in big cities and suburbs. After all, that’s where the action is, that’s where to go in order to make your life count, to influence influencers, to shape culture. The Apostle Paul focused on cities. A small church in a no-name town doesn’t have the same cachet or importance. But for those of us who long to see God’s glory spread everywhere, throughout the world, it’s worth asking: is the case for privileging large-place ministry compelling? Is it possible to live a fruitful and significant life devoted to small-place ministry? If so, how ought we to go about it? Small-town pastor and Gordon-Conwell adjunct faculty, Dr. Stephen Witmer will address these questions in the forum.
Dr. Jason McConnell, Gordon-Conwell adjunct faculty and pastor of Franklin United Church and East Franklin Union Church, will give a response.
The Dean’s Forum discussion is free and is open to the public. RSVP is required by November 20 for those who are planning to attend in person. Lunch will be provided to those who will be attending in person.
