BOSTON REPARATIONS AND THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE FAITH COMMUNITY

November 23 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

*New time and location*

Join us as we dive deeper into the path toward reparations for Black Boston and the faith community’s role in this important journey. Since The New Democracy Coalition’s 2018 call for reparations, efforts have led to a historic apology in 2022 by Boston City Council and Mayor Wu for the city’s role in the slave trade. This apology initiated the creation of the Boston Reparations Task Force in 2023.

Our next step is establishing a community-led Boston Reparations Commission comprised of activists, clergy, and residents committed to justice and reparative action. This commission will serve to educate, inform, and mobilize Bostonians on the issue of reparations.

Time: 1:00 PM
Location: Codman Square Public Library, 690 Washington Street, Dorchester
