Gordon College’s Adirondack Leadership Program (ALP) are for 15-to-18-year olds who desire to explore their faith in God’s Creation. ALP trips span four stages: Training and preparation, group expedition, solo reflection and celebration. The trip begins by traveling to the La Vida Base Camp in Lake Clear, NY where groups begin by challenging themselves on the ropes course. After a day spent rock climbing outdoors, groups head into the wilderness where they put their newly acquired skills to use in Adirondack State Park. Over several days of backpacking or canoeing adventures, groups discover more about the outdoors as they build character and leadership skills. The trip wraps with an unplugged 24-hour solo period for reflection and goal-setting, followed by a final challenge and a time of celebration and sharing.
