Nurturing Relational Connections Across Boston's Christian Community
The National Day of Prayer is celebrating 66 years with over 50,000 events across the country and millions of citizens observing this day which became public law by President Harry Truman on April 17, 1952. As a nation, we are more divided and many within the Church are struggling to find themselves through all the societal chaos that is currently plaguing our country and world.
We have received an answer to prayer for a bi-partisan co-sponsorship for the Noon Prayer gathering at the State House through the offices of Senator Linda Dorcena Forry and Representative Keiko Orrall. Considering our current polarizing political climate, we need more gatherings that will focus on uniting us and I am hopeful through the grace of God we will accomplish this at the State House.
Our theme for the afternoon reception is AN UNSHAKABLE KINGDOM: A CALL TO THE CHURCH TO STAND IN UNCERTAIN TIMES, with guest speaker Bishop Gideon Thompson, Founder of Jubilee Christian Church in Boston.
