SUMMARY:Prophetic Leadership Principles
DESCRIPTION:Greater Boston\, this is a season for depth.\n\nSPL1000: Prophetic Principles is the gateway course of the School of Prophetic Leadership — designed for believers who sense a call to hear clearly\, discern biblically\, and lead with integrity. In a time when voices are loud and clarity is rare\, this course grounds you in Scripture\, spiritual formation\, and tested prophetic foundations.\n\nThis is not hype. This is formation.\n\nOver this journey\, you’ll explore how revelation\, interpretation\, and application work together. You’ll grow in discernment before declaration\, character before commissioning\, and structure before expansion. Whether you serve in church\, marketplace\, intercession\, or culture\, SPL1000 strengthens your spiritual depth and leadership maturity.\n\nIf you’re called to speak\, lead\, or build — but want to be rooted first — this is your next step.\n\nRegistration is open. Join us and build on foundations that last.

SUMMARY:Transformational Listening: Soul Care Companions (TL1)
DESCRIPTION:“I don’t want to walk away from God or my faith\, but I don’t quite know how to walk with other Christians anymore…” \nPerhaps you’ve said this yourself\, had others confide something similar to you\, or read in between the lines on social media posts. Whatever the case may be\, this is something we hear & not just in the younger generations! When someone shares this with us\, we don’t actually get discouraged\, but hopeful. Hopeful\, because we recognize the longing in them for a vulnerable relationship with God & one another that opens the door for true community. We believe one of the ways forward is through listening. But not just any listening\, true contemplative & transformational listening that builds change & community. 10 years ago\, we created our Transformational Listening: Soul Care Companions course with this in mind. Today it holds up to the test of time. Listening to God & one another makes a lasting difference. We can be contemplatives in action creating change in our inner lives with Christ & in our communities as we love one another. We have offered this course to church groups\, organizations\, & strangers that become lifelong friends. And now\, we are offering it again to you. Will you join us?

SUMMARY:Showing Up Well: A Training for Volunteers on Genuine Engagement
DESCRIPTION:Every volunteer engagement that involves another person is a relationship. And like any relationship\, what we bring into it shapes what’s possible. \nOften volunteers’ biggest challenges aren’t logistical\, they’re invisible. The unspoken expectations we attach to our help\, the moments when our instinct to fix things gets ahead of what someone is asking for\, how our own cultural lens can shape — and sometimes distort — how we show up. \nUniteBoston is partnering with Sarah Blumenshine\, Director of Intercultural Ministries at the Emmanuel Gospel Center\, to offer a zoom training where we can all take an honest\, non-judgmental look at the mindsets that can quietly undermine the very relationships we’re hoping to build. We’re especially encouraging congregations and volunteers who have been part of our spring “Love Thy Neighbor” initiatives to join this opportunity! \nExpect honest conversation\, relatable scenarios\, and practical tools to help you engage with love and care. \nSign up here to receive the zoom link and help us spread the word!

(25 Beach Street\, Dorchester) as a large-scale donation to the Mary Ann Brett Food Pantry\, as part of Boston and the Bay State’s America250 commemoration. \nWe’d love you to join us in greeting the first of 3 America250 trucks coming to Massachusetts in 2026.  These specially designated America250 semi-trucks\, organized via JustServe.org\, by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints\, are a celebration of our nation’s 250th birthday and our national and local values of serving our communities.  Please stop by WORK Inc.’s facility at 25 Beach Street on the morning of April 10th and join us in celebrating community service in Boston!

SUMMARY:Singing Through Struggle: Building Community in Challenging Times
DESCRIPTION:Music is often called “the universal language” but digging deeper\, we can see how music helps us communicate values\, deeply felt needs\, complex feelings\, and core identities. At church\, when we sing\, sing a certain way\, fund and defund singing\, or argue about singing\, we’re conveying something about who we are or want to be. \nIn this presentation\, Dr. Carolynne Hitter Brown will share her research on ways the Black Church has historically relied on music to navigate challenging waters and changing courses\, resist racist forces without and power structures within\, and formulate an authentic and Christ-centered community identity. Considering how cultural polarities\, diverse social issues\, and global struggles effect congregations today\, Dr. Hitter Brown will suggest possible ways music in worship can heal and build Christian community. \nDr. Nicholas Rowe\, Kenneth and Jean Hansen Associate Professor of Leadership\, and Dr. Wes Vander Lugt\, Adjunct Professor of Theology and Acting Director of the Leighton Ford Initiative in Theology\, the Arts\, and Gospel Witness\, will give the response. \nThe Dean’s Forum discussion is free and is open to the public. RSVP is required for those who are planning to attend in person. NO RSVP NEEDED IF YOU PLAN TO WATCH ONLINE. Lunch will be provided to those who will be attending in person. \nRSVP Here

SUMMARY:United Gospel Experience Tour
DESCRIPTION:Our finale concert for the 2025-2026 United Gospel Experience Tour will be on Saturday April 18 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Morningstar Baptist Church\, 1257 Blue Hill Ave\, Mattapan\, MA 02126. \nCentered on the theme “Come together\, stay together\, worship together” (Mt. 18:20)\, the tour centers on Jesus’ promise that “where two or three gather in my name\, there am I with them.” In these challenging times\, our prayer is that\, through this united worship\, God’s Spirit will move mightily to bring healing\, reconciliation\, and new life. We’ve discovered that when students from across New England join their voices in one choir\, gospel music rises as a powerful proclamation of hope and freedom. \nPlease help us spread the word by spreading the word to local pastors and congregations through our invite letter!  \nClick here to read the story behind this year’s tour and how you can be part of it. And don’t miss this documentary of highlights and testimonies from last year’s gospel experience tour! \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The Boston Faith & Justice Network invites you to our latest book group starting April 21 via Zoom (7-8:30). We will be reading and reflecting on Subversive Witness by Dominique Dubois Gilliard. \nGilliard challenges us to see our biblical mandate not as passive observers\, but as active participants in God’s justice. This group offers a sacred space to be challenged\, to grow in community\, and to discern how we can collectively steward our influence for the sake of the marginalized. Join us as we explore what it means to be a Christian witness today.”

SUMMARY:Cherish: From Individualism to Intimacy
DESCRIPTION:Over time\, many marriages drift into something more like a shared life than a shared heart – two people managing schedules\, responsibilities\, and routines\, but slowly becoming more independent than connected. The spark fades\, conversations get practical\, and intimacy – both emotional and physical – can feel distant or out of reach. \nYou’re invited to a morning with bestselling author and marriage teacher Gary Thomas as he invites couples into a different vision of marriage – one marked by deeper connection\, renewed intimacy\, and a shared pursuit of God. Drawing from his books Cherish\, Sacred Marriage\, and Sacred Pathways\, Gary will offer practical\, faith-rooted insights to help you move from simply coexisting to truly knowing and delighting in one another.

SUMMARY:Vulnerability & Cruciformity: A Resurrection Retreat
DESCRIPTION:We live in a hurried\, polarized\, and fearful time. Our natural instinct is to react with hardness\, protection\, and isolation. Yet\, both modern psychology and sound Christian theology beckon us to do the opposite: live life with arms wide open. As Brené Brown would say\, “Live vulnerably.” Let your life be cruciform: taking the very shape of Jesus’ own life and even his cross and resurrection. \nJoin Dr. Elizabeth Woodard\, Ph.D.\, Catholic theologian and spiritual director\, for a post-Easter Day Apart retreat that will focus on how to live with open hearts during a time such as this. We will investigate vulnerability as it is presented in the work of psychological researcher Dr. Brene Brown\, and we will investigate cruciformity as it is presented in the Christian theological tradition. These two\, very different scholastic approaches seem to call us to quite similar ends. \nDiscover the joy of the Easter season at Rolling Ridge.

SUMMARY:UniteBoston’s Annual Fundraising Party & Community Gathering
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to UniteBoston’s Fundraising Party and community gathering on Friday\, May 29 from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm at the Bruce C. Bolling Building in Roxbury. This will be an evening of celebration with food\, joy\, and an opportunity to partner with us in our bridge-building work across Greater Boston. \nOur theme this year is “Illuminate.” In a time when division and uncertainty can feel heavy\, we believe Christ calls us to shine (Mt 5:16)—bringing light to hard places\, clarity to confusion\, and hope to weary hearts. At UniteBoston\, we are committed to equipping Christians to be peacemakers and bridge-builders—agents of unity\, reconciliation\, justice\, and repair. Illuminate reflects our prayer that the Church would not hide its light but embody it boldly and beautifully for the good of our city. \nThis year’s keynote speaker is Rev. Rozella Haydée White\, a public theologian\, ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America\, and “Love Big” coach. Dedicated to nurturing a love that is life-giving\, justice-seeking\, and restorative\, she has authored a book entitled Love Big: The Power of Revolutionary Relationships to Transform the World. \nRozella’s work deeply aligns with UniteBoston’s mission to heal divisions and strengthen the Church’s collective witness. Over the past year\, she has also played a vital role behind the scenes\, working directly with Rev. Kelly and Rev. Devlin as a coach for a capacity-building grant initiative. We are thrilled to have her voice guide us faithfully illuminating the gospel and bearing witness to Christ’s reconciling work in our beloved city. \n \nThe evening will also include a conversation with Rev. Kelly and Rev. Devlin\, stories of impact from our UniteBoston community\, and creative expressions that reflect the heart of this year’s theme. \nJoin us to connect with friends old and new—and to discover how you can participate in God’s reconciling\, restoring\, peacebuilding work through UniteBoston. \nWe’re excited to offer FREE childcare during the event\, provided by safe and vetted volunteers. Stay tuned for a link to register your children so we can prepare well for them. Children do not need a ticket to the event\, but advance registration is required. \nWe can’t wait to gather\, celebrate\, and shine together.  REGISTER BELOW \n \nTicket Options:\n\nGeneral Admission: $50\nStudent Admission: $25\nVolunteers: Free\n\nSponsorship Opportunities:\n\nGold Sponsor – $2\,000\nSilver Sponsor – $1\,000\nBronze Sponsor – $500\nTable Sponsor (Organization) – $300\n\nOur Goal: Raising $40\,000\nYour generous contributions will directly support our efforts to fortify Christian unity in Boston through strategic planning\, staff and consultant support\, and partnerships with local ministries. \nThank you for partnering with us to God’s work towards reconciliation\, justice\, and peacemaking in our city.
