SUMMARY:YWAM Boston's Movement Discipleship Training School
DESCRIPTION:VISION\nOur vision is to use fitness as a catalyst to empower us to reach our full potential in every area of our lives\, ready to do whatever it takes to carry the gospel to the ends of the earth.\nMovement Discipleship Training School is a 5-month experience of spiritual\, emotional\, and physical growth.\nThe school is broken up into two phases. The first part of the school is three months in Boston\, followed by a 2-month outreach in Cambodia.  Apply here.\n\n\nDuring the first phase\, our students glean from a different visiting teacher each week. Our teachers are required to have life experience in the topic they cover. We have an integrated schedule with 12 lecture hours per week focused on our core DTS curriculum\, including the nature and character of God\, evangelism\, identity in Christ\, intercession\, healthy relationships\, world missions\, and more. \nLecture content will be supplemented by times of group intercession\, worship\, small group and evangelism and exercise. \nWe are partnering with a local CrossFit gym where we will be involved in a wide variety of exercises including running\, biking\, rowing\, weight lifting\, and bodyweight exercises. All of this will be done in a no judgment atmosphere full of encouragement and fun! This is fitness in community! \nWe believe that fitness can be a catalytic spark empowering and inspiring us to wake up to the reality of our full potential in every area of our lives And we are convinced that God’s glory is seen more fully when His children are fully alive! \nAfter 3 months of transformation in Boston\, we will travel to Southeast Asia to partner with YWAM in Cambodia. Cambodia is less than 2% evangelical Christian and is in great need of the gospel to be preached and demonstrated with power and compassion. We will be working with an established fitness ministry in Cambodia\, supporting and encouraging their work. We will learn from them as we get hands-on opportunity to serve by their side and see what God is doing to reach their city Your eyes will be opened to the vast potential of kingdom impact in the nations as you are exposed to a variety of different ministries.  Additional potential ministry involvement includes evangelism\, cafe ministry\, fitness related ministry\, teaching english\, ministering to children at risk\, church planting\, etc.
