SUMMARY:Fall Festival: Open Mic & Outreach Opportunity
DESCRIPTION:Christ the Redeemer Quincy and UniteBoston are partnering to put on a fall festival with live music (open mic)\, Smiles by the Mile ice cream truck giving out free frozen treats\, hot apple cider\, pumpkin painting and other activities for children! The festival will be on October 16 from 2-5pm in the yard of Christ the Redeemer Quincy (136 Rawson Road). \nWe welcome all artists and creative-types to participate in the open mic portion of the concerts! Click here to sign up to share a song\, spoken word poem\, dance\, or visual artistic piece during the open mic series. We seek to create an environment that is welcoming to people of all skill levels. \nRSVP to attend via Eventbrite here; and click here to see the event on Facebook and share with friends! \nIn addition to coming\, they could use some volunteers.\n– 6 for setup (12:30-2)\n– 6 for cleanup (after)\n– 8 during the event (to oversee children’s activities\, meet and direct people)\n\nPlease email Pastor Matt Owens <matt@ctrquincy.org> if you could volunteer before\, during\, and/or after the festival! DESCRIPTION:The A Praying Life Seminar explores Jesus’ simple yet powerful teachings on prayer to help badly praying Christians—that’s 99% of us—discover the joy of prayer. We practice becoming child-like\, patterning our prayers after Jesus’ own teaching and prayers\, using practical prayer tools. Most importantly\, we make lots of time to pray and practice what we’re learning.
