DESCRIPTION:Please join us on November 1 and December 6 to pray for our nation and our world. \nWe live in a world that is full of turmoil\, division\, and disease. Through prayer\, we get to gather and pray that God’s Kingdom would come on earth as it is in heaven. They served 10 years in Central Asia (Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan) as church planting missionaries with Pioneers and are now back in the US reaching out to the Muslims here. James is the Washington DC area coordinator for Crescent Project. Faith is the director of ESL ministry in Leesburg\, VA. God has blessed them with three “miracle” children: Joniel\, Josiah and Karis. \nWe will also have workshop sessions focused on topics such as Refugee Ministry\, Prayer in Missions\, Short-term Missions\, Building a Missions Vision in Your Church\, Reaching out to the Nations in Your Backyard\, and many more. Discovering that vision makes this course valuable\, and perhaps crucial\, for any Christian. \nWhat is Perspectives? \nPerspectives is a fifteen week course designed around four vantage points or “perspectives” — Biblical\, Historical\, Cultural and Strategic. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to let you know that we will be having our 2nd annual regional missions conference on Saturday\, October 7 from 9 am to 5 pm. The Made For More conference will be held at Mount Hope Christian Center in Burlington\, MA. \nThis conference is specifically designed for those who:\n*have been on a short-term missions trip and want to continue to grow in their world vision;\nare on church mission committees;\n*want to mobilize others to develop and act on a strategy to reach peoples around the corner and around the world;\n*or are considering serving longer term. \nThe conference will help participants understand more of how important the nations (or ethnic groups) are to the heart of God\, to understand more of the current state of the world\, and understand more of God’s will and purpose for them individually. \nThis is also a tool for churches. Helping people transition from merely having a vision for short-term missions to having a vision for the long-term is something that most churches wrestle with.This will be talked about as well. \nSome of the workshop tracks\, panels\, and topics at the conference: (subject to change) \nI’ve gone on a short-term…now what? \nGod’s Calling on My Life\nCultivating a Global Prayer Life\nLiving as a World Christian\nI want to impact the world around me and get others in my church to as well: \nChurch mobilization tools such as the Perspectives class and missions conferences\nMinistry to international students\nRefugee ministry\nMuslim\, Hindu and Buddhist outreach\nI’m considering long-term missions service: \nHow to get equipped and find a mission agency\nHow to raise a (financial and prayer) support team\nGetting plugged into medical missions\, business as missions\, compassion ministry (ESL\, street kid education\, sports outreach\, etc.)\nPlenary sessions will feature Paul Borthwick and Tim Schmidt.
