SUMMARY:Hip Hop and Boston Church Planting
DESCRIPTION:Join us for “Should Hip Hop and church planting get more teamed up in Greater Boston?” on Saturday March 10th at 10am at the Emmanuel Gospel Center\, led by Caleb McCoy and Marc Auguste. \nHip hop started at a house party in the Bronx as a way for the DJ to keep the party going.  It evolved into a multifaceted culture that has now become mainstream in America and is taught at several schools and universities including Harvard.\n\nCan the church recognize this phenomenon\, and better yet\, use it for the advancement of the gospel?  Emmett Price\, who planted a church in Allston and is Dean of the Chapel and the Executive Director of the Institute for the Study of the Black Christian Experience at Gordon-Conwell Seminary\, explains some of this in his “Hip Hop Culture” and “The Black Church and Hip Hop Culture: Toward Bridging the Generational Divide.”\n\nCan a Christ-centered Hip Hop ministry impact church planting?  Caleb and Marc come with a passion for hip hop\, the city of Boston and the gospel.  They are currently engaged in using hip hop to preach the gospel\, reach people for Jesus and multiply church planting.\n\nShould and can hip hop be part of your church planting planning and doing?  Let’s talk about it on March 10 as we meet at the Emmanuel Gospel Center\, 2 San Juan St\, Boston 02118. Do you know someone you should engage to come\, maybe a younger church planting thinker comes to your mind?
