SUMMARY:Fall Festival: Open Mic & Outreach Opportunity
DESCRIPTION:Christ the Redeemer Quincy and UniteBoston are partnering to put on a fall festival with live music (open mic)\, Smiles by the Mile ice cream truck giving out free frozen treats\, hot apple cider\, pumpkin painting and other activities for children! The festival will be on October 16 from 2-5pm in the yard of Christ the Redeemer Quincy (136 Rawson Road). \nWe welcome all artists and creative-types to participate in the open mic portion of the concerts! Click here to sign up to share a song\, spoken word poem\, dance\, or visual artistic piece during the open mic series. We seek to create an environment that is welcoming to people of all skill levels. \nRSVP to attend via Eventbrite here; and click here to see the event on Facebook and share with friends! \nIn addition to coming\, they could use some volunteers.\n– 6 for setup (12:30-2)\n– 6 for cleanup (after)\n– 8 during the event (to oversee children’s activities\, meet and direct people)\n\nPlease email Pastor Matt Owens <matt@ctrquincy.org> if you could volunteer before\, during\, and/or after the festival! Pastor Matt Owens will be presenting at this session of the Boston Church Planting Collaborative on “Lessons Learned Through Neighborhood-Focused Church Planting.” Matt has engaged in church planting in Ireland\, JP/Roxbury and Somerville\, and is now starting a church focused on Quincy.  Every neighborhood is different\, and Christians who live there or even just worship there have/can have insights for that neighborhood God can use in special ways to bring neighbors to God.
