SUMMARY:Lighthouse Night for Young Adults
DESCRIPTION:Simply\, Lighthouse invites young adults to “Meet People. Meet Purpose.”  \nOnly about 20% of Christian young adults stay Christian into their adulthood. Yet\, research has found that young adults who are connected to other Christians are more likely to continue on the path following Jesus (Pettus). \nThus\,  Lighthouse exists to connect young adults with each other so they can encourage one another as they live out their faith. Our ministry has a strong focus on small groups and is localized in the Boston area because we believe that transformation  happens best through opportunities to connect at a deep level.  \nAdditionally\, many young adults have abandoned attending church on Sunday mornings.  There are many reasons for this\, but many young adults state that they stop attending church  because their church worships in another language\, the messages and music are focused on an older demographic\, or because there’s no one their age there anymore. I was just speaking with a 22 year old a few weeks ago and when I asked him about his life\, his words were\, “I’m still trying to figure out exactly who I am.” There is a need for regular church gatherings that are designed for young people\, so we invite young adults into a monthly gathering that unwraps the gift of purpose that God has freely given to each person involving conversation\, worship and a relevant message. \nHow you can help: \n\nHelp us spread the word. Do you know other young adults or leaders who might be interested in Lighthouse? We would be happy to connect with them to share more. \nPray for young people to find out and get involved with Lighthouse\, pray for our leadership team as we launch this ministry and pray for all the resources to come in! Revival is not a thing of the past\, God can still move in our city\, let’s humble ourselves and cry out for this generation!\nGive financially. We are hoping to raise about $2\,200. We’ve already covered a lot of our own expenses\, but there are a few more big things that have taken us beyond our personal budget\, particularly a black pipe and drape set that will transform our space to cater to the young adult atmosphere we are trying to create.\n\n  \nThis ministry is led by Kika Ghobrial and his team serving at Arabic Evangelical Baptist Church in West Roxbury\, MA.
