SUMMARY:Micah 6:8 Events
DESCRIPTION:Our Micah 6:8 program offers multiday experiences for those wishing to explore deeply the concepts of justice and generosity in their own lives. \nJoin us for immersive experiences designed to tie together the three elements of the famous passage – doing justice\, loving mercy\, and walking humbly with God. Get the opportunity to work alongside organizations serving vulnerable communities while building community\, learning about injustice\, and studying the Biblical call to engage. \nThis is actually two separate events on back to back weekends. The first is November 8-9th in Hopkinton\, MA and the second November 15-16th in Boston\, MA. Each event will be 6:30-9 pm Friday and 8 am – 8 pm Saturday. The events share a pre-session zoom meeting 10/24 or 10/30 October from 7-8:30 pm. The Boston event is being put on in collaboration with Faith Leaders for Housing Justice (FL4HJ) and will focus on themes related to their mission. DESCRIPTION:The Boston Faith & Justice Network is launching a new version of Lazarus at the Gate October 1st! \nLazarus at the Gate is a unique and transformational eight-week Bible study designed to challenge small groups to understand the Biblical foundation for generosity\, simple living and just spending habits.  Taken straightforwardly\, Scriptural teachings on wealth are enormously challenging to American consumer culture with its emphasis on immediate gratification\, tolerance of vast inequalities\, and promotion of anxiety.
