DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with the Boston Ministerial Alliance (BMA) TenPoint Coalition\, Inc.\, GBIO is hosting a Mayoral Candidates Action on Tuesday\, September 2nd. We will be joined by Mayor Michelle Wu as well as challengers Josh Kraft\, Robert Cappucci and Domingos DaRosa. \nWe will use this Action to uplift issues of particular interest to Black leaders and communities across GBIO. In GBIO style\, this Action is a way for us to build relationship with these candidates\, establishing a line of communication that we plan to follow up on throughout the term of whoever is elected. \nYou can expect to hear stories from leaders that reflect priorities discovered through research\, one-on-one meetings and gatherings conducted over the last 6 months\, and the candidates will each share their reactions and plans to address these issues. \nWe invite City of Boston residents to join us IN-PERSON at Bethel AME Church for the Action. Please arrive by 6:30pm to sign in and be seated for a prompt 7pm start. DESCRIPTION:35 “For I was hungry and you gave me food\, I was thirsty and you gave me drink\, I was a stranger and you welcomed me\, 36 I was naked and you clothed me\, I was sick and you visited me\, I was in prison and you came to me.”  Matthew 25:35-36 \nJesus calls us to show the love of God to everyone\, especially to the most vulnerable of our society\, the ones He calls “the least of these.”  Because they are the most marginalized\, the most powerless\, and the most unseen among us\, they are often overlooked\, exploited\, and given blame for the difficulties of our society. \nOn April 27\, 2025\,  Jesus and Justice Sunday\, we are asking Clergy across greater Boston to do as Jesus commands and preach messages of Hope and Compassion\, Mercy and Justice for the members of our communities who are suffering and are being labeled as targets. \nWill you preach –from an Old or New Testament passage— a message of Biblical Social Justice for the least of these our brothers and sisters?  We hope so.  We hope that you will join us in fulfilling that Second and Great Commandment\, to love our neighbors as ourselves.
