SUMMARY:Healing Hearts Club Camp (Children’s Healing Trauma)
DESCRIPTION:While trauma as a mental health diagnosis has obviously existed for a long time\, it is now being talked about much more frequently as one of the major outcomes of the pandemic that needs to be addressed.  And often we don’t even identify our grief\, pain and loss as trauma – we just know that we are struggling with it’s impact on our lives. And grief\, loss and trauma impact children\, as well as adults.  They often just don’t have the words to express their experiences. \nVictory Generation\, a program of Black Ministerial Alliance Ten Point\, in partnership with Boston Trauma Healing Collaborative\, Vision New England and the Trauma Healing Institute/American Bible Society will be offering a Healing Hearts Club Camp August 21 – August 25\, 2023.  Hosted at the Second Church in Dorchester\, 44 Moultrie Street. \nVictory Generation accepting students for camp. The camp will operate from 8:30am – 4:30pm. They will provide materials\, breakfast between 8:30 – 9:00\, as well as lunch\, and snack. If you have any students (ages 8-13) from your church or community that you know would be interested in this wonderful opportunity for our young people to learn about their heart pain\, please contact Rochelle Jones at rjones@bmaboston.org \nSome of the topics of our camp include:\n•       Am I important to God?\n•       Learning how to say how we feel\n•       Loss and grief\n•       Taking our Pain to Jesus\n•       Why do bad things happen?\n•       Feeling lonely\n•       Good touch/bad touch\n•       Learning to forgive \nThe cost of the camp for the week is $250. Scholarships are available upon request.
