I understand you are looking for housing in the Boston area starting in November. I have a room available in a lovely apartment in Somerville, along the Mystic River. It is a short walk from Assembly Row and the Orange Line T stop. Rent is $1100 and a 1 month deposit is required, per our landlord. It would be a minimum of a 1 year lease. Utilities run about $85-$100 each. There is on-street residential parking with purchase of a 1-year residential permit.
Rent is probably a bit higher than you want. But, you have the benefit of only one roommate, rather than a boarding house. The bedroom is 9×12 with a small closet. Shared bathroom. Free Laundry in the basement. About me, I work at Tufts University and am a member of Impact Church in Medford. My current roommate is getting married November 12 and is probably moving the last weekend of October. So, there is flexibility if you need to move in a few days early.
