Hi Alexis,
I am so excited by your post! I am a Christian 24-year-old Christian young professional living in an apartment near the red line. I’m in a 4-bedroom 1 bathroom apartment a 15 min walk from the Alewife stop of the red line. All three of my housemates will have moved out by September 1st for job and visa reasons. I’m currently debating on whether or not to renew the lease or move out and find a different/smaller place. But I am very interested in the idea of living in an intentional Christian women’s community, and so maybe my apartment could be the space for you and your friend!
One of the really special things about this apartment is that it has two living rooms, a dining room, a breakfast nook, two porches, and a yard (shared with our 3 downstairs neighbors) so it’s an ideal space for building community. And all the common areas are on one floor and the bedrooms are on another floor, so the physical separation makes balancing quiet solitude with joyful hosted events especially easy. There are 3 larger rooms and one smaller room, so we’ve been splitting the rent as $800 for each large room and $750 a month for the smaller room. The landlord is very nice and responsive and the neighborhood feels very safe and quiet. We’re also a 2 minute walk from a 77 bus stop along Mass Ave.
For a bit about me, I came to Boston for college at MIT in 2015. I majored in math and now work in software support for a robotics company called Boston Dynamics. I attend Central Square Church and occasionally volunteer with Intervarsity college ministries. I’m also somewhat tied into the Christ the King Cambridge church community since I’ve had several roommates who were members there. In my non-working time I enjoy cooking vegetarian food, reading books (particularly sci-fi fantasy and books on social issues), biking, finding obscure indie music, playing trombone, and browsing through art museums’ online databases.

All the best,
