SUMMARY:Opposing “Christian” Racism & White Supremacists In Federal Court In 2019
DESCRIPTION:Racism and white supremacy are not only alive\, well and deeply rooted in many White-run “christian” organizations\, and racism and white supremacy are still fiercely protected and defended in 2019 and in the Court  System of the United States.  Additionally\, a May 2018 Pew study among groupings of Americans found that White Evangelical Christians hate refugees the most\, despite the fact that evangelicals send missionaries worldwide and spend hundreds of millions of dollars on charity and mission. \nTake a journey back into the dark days of racism and slavery in America by joining Pastor Torli Krua & Rev. Mahn C. Krua. Two Liberian pastors from a remote village – without lawyers – will be facing off with a law firm hired by an American Evangelical White Supremacy missionary agency that has operated for nearly a century in their remote villages in Liberia\, Africa. \nPlease join them in prayer or show up to support him in federal court on Wednesday February 27\, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Federal Courthouse\, 1 Courthouse Way\, Boston\, MA 02210 \nIf you are interested in praying for the Kruas or attending the hearing\, please contact Pastor Torli Krua (harlankrua@gmail.com). \nBackground: Defendant Baptist Mid Missions (BMM) went to “save the souls” of Africans in 1931. Since 1931\, an white males have dominated their board of directors\, missionary staff and management without a single African. They prohibited education beyond 6th grade for Africans but not for their children. They built racially segregated schools residences & operated racially segregated church conferences in Africa. They kissed their dogs but refused to allow African children in their homes or to drink from their cups in Africa. They tortured people into confessions. They enslaved domestic servants and exploited people who offered services to them. After racial discrimination was prohibited by Brown v. Board of Education and the 1964 Civil Rights legislation\, BMM still continues discrimination in employment\, racial segregation at church conferences. The case is about BMM’s attempt to do in the USA what they have practiced in Liberia for decades: Denied Krua employment in Massachusetts\, USA because of his race and national origin\, among other actions.

SUMMARY:Collegiate Day of Prayer // 2.28.2019
DESCRIPTION:WHAT IS IT? \nThe Collegiate Day of Prayer (CDOP) is a unified day of prayer for colleges and universities—hundreds of students\, professors\, parents\, and churches are involved every year. \nWHERE? \nPrayer and worship gatherings are taking place all over the States\, and the Boston gathering will be hosted at Church of the Cross at 105 Jersey St.\, Boston\, MA 02215—right in the heart of the Fenway. \nWHEN? \nThursday—28 February 2019—8:00pm-9:30pm. \nWHO SHOULD COME? \nYOU—and any other students and professors and campus fellowships and parents and pastors and churches and others who want to pray for colleges and universities in Boston and New England. \nWHO IS HOSTING THE GATHERING? \nWell\, that’s a fun story… four campus ministers (Sherami Hinders with InterVarsity\, Ryan Ruffing with CCO\, Liz Kealy with CRU\, and Trent Sheppard with Alpha) got together at Northeastern University a few days ago to talk and pray about something called EveryCampus—and in the middle of our conversation we realized the CDOP was just around the corner… and that would be the perfect time to conspire in prayer together with a load of friends about what God is up to in Boston and beyond! \nWHY SHOULD I TAKE TIME TO DO THIS? \nBecause we believe King Jesus is up to something brave and beautiful on campuses right now\, and we think it’d bring joy to God’s heart if we conspire in prayer together… like that passage in John 17:20-23 says 🙂 \nSo what do you think?  Can you join us February 28?  And can you help us spread the word?  We sure do hope so! \nThe best way to RSVP (so we can plan well) is by letting us know at the CDOP/EveryCampus Boston Facebook event page. \nHope to see you on February 28 at 8pm! \n—Sherami\, Ryan\, Liz\, and Trent

SUMMARY:IF:Boston
DESCRIPTION:This is a generation that is not just hungry for big faith\, but for a big faith that is lived out in the practical\, mundane things we do and the decisions that we make everyday. What does it look like to follow God and live out this faith in our relationships\, at our jobs\, in conflict\, in suffering\, with money? Faith can move mountains\, but it can also change our everyday circumstances\, so we are going to look at God’s word to do that in one of the most practical\, yet misunderstood\, books of the Bible – Proverbs. Proverbs doesn’t show us a set of rules\, but a different way to live that is so attractive\, so fragrant\, flowing through our lives\, actions\, relationships\, and work\, and drawing people to Christ. Together\, we are going to discover what it looks like to do these things\, not perfectly\, but in good faith\, trying our best to obey God and His way of life. \nIF:Boston is trying a new format this year. We are not hosting IF:Gathering live\, but playing it three weeks later. Our hope is to allow more time for conversation and connection between attendees. On Friday night\, we will gather in homes around the city to allow for a cozy start to the conference (and make it easier to get home on time!). On Saturday\, we will gather all together at Park Street Church in Boston.
