DESCRIPTION:Date: May 4\, 2026Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PMLocation: Second Church in Dorchester | 44 Moultrie St. Dorchester\, MA 02124 \nAbout the Event \nUniteBoston is partnering with Arrabon for Rooted in Justice\, a one-day workshop intensive designed for those who walk closely with teenagers ages 13–17. This training is for youth pastors\, ministry leaders\, mentors\, parents\, and caregivers who are navigating the complexities of forming faith in a world shaped by trauma\, division\, and deep questions about justice\, belonging\, and hope. \nThis immersive day invites participants into a space of formation\, not just information. Through trauma-informed learning\, shared practices\, and honest dialogue with others across diverse contexts\, you’ll grow in active listening\, empathy\, courage\, and a vision for justice-shaped discipleship that meets young people where they truly are. \nParticipants will receive access to the Cultivating Kinship curriculum\, a six-week spiritual formation resource equipping Christ-followers to engage hard conversations with compassionate curiosity\, embodied faith\, and hope. SUMMARY:Vulnerability & Cruciformity: A Resurrection Retreat
DESCRIPTION:We live in a hurried\, polarized\, and fearful time. Our natural instinct is to react with hardness\, protection\, and isolation. Yet\, both modern psychology and sound Christian theology beckon us to do the opposite: live life with arms wide open. As Brené Brown would say\, “Live vulnerably.” Let your life be cruciform: taking the very shape of Jesus’ own life and even his cross and resurrection. \nJoin Dr. Elizabeth Woodard\, Ph.D.\, Catholic theologian and spiritual director\, for a post-Easter Day Apart retreat that will focus on how to live with open hearts during a time such as this. We will investigate vulnerability as it is presented in the work of psychological researcher Dr. Brene Brown\, and we will investigate cruciformity as it is presented in the Christian theological tradition. These two\, very different scholastic approaches seem to call us to quite similar ends. \nDiscover the joy of the Easter season at Rolling Ridge.
