SUMMARY:Northeast Gathering of The Initiative - Walking Together with Jesus toward Unity
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Friday evening and Saturday experience of prayer\, lectio divina\, worship\, small groups\, exploring The Initiative community’s way of life\, and building friendships across difference. SUMMARY:Prayer Gathering for City-Wide Alpha
DESCRIPTION:Luke 11:02 teaches us to pray “Your Kingdom come” and we are inviting the whole church in Boston to join us for prayer leading up to Alpha groups launching in neighborhoods all across the city. Alpha is a safe space for skeptics and seekers alike to come as they are and explore questions of life & faith in a judgment-free zone.  We are excited to share that God has opened the door for 17 churches to launch 22 Alphas this fall in a wide variety of ministry contexts in three different languages. Alphas are being planned in churches\, in homes\, in coffeeshops\, in prisons\, with those who are homeless\, on a military base\, with young professionals and with college students all across Boston. \nJoin UniteBoston staff and local pastors hosting Alpha groups on Tuesday September 26 from 7:30 to 8:30pm  for a zoom gathering to pray for individuals to be encountered by God through Alpha\, for unity and mobilization among leaders of faith communities\, for all members of the body of Christ to catch the vision and invite their non-Christian friends to a Boston Alpha. \nZoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3470474236?pwd=WlE5Z2JEdm1SbGsvQlY5cG1qb0hqZz09 \nFor questions or more information\, contact Lisa Oelerich\, lisaoelerich@alphausa.org \nPlease invite your friends\, co-workers and neighbors to Try Alpha Boston this fall!

SUMMARY:Miracle Mile Ministries - Vision-Casting and Training
DESCRIPTION:As we look forward to the fall season\, we want to come together as one body and share the vision for Miracle Mile Ministries. We will have a time of worship and vision casting. Following this time\, we will have time to separate into our teams (clothing closet\, distribution\, table stewards\, etc.) and discuss individual vision for each team. We will also have a separate training during this time for new and potential volunteers. \nThis training is required for all current and potential volunteers. It is vital that we are all pursuing the same vision together as we plan for the growth of the ministry\, spiritually and organizationally. \nPlease sign up here and message Evelyn or Heidi if you cannot make it. Blessings!

Invite your pastor\, colleagues and friends to rejoice in the Lord together in the heart of the city! Students can become Concert Ambassadors\, who spread the word at their campus\, help to create a welcoming atmosphere\, and strengthen their leadership skills. You can also download our Church Media Kit to share about the concert at your local church!\n\n\n\n \nA note on the location: \nThis worship gathering is taking place at Christopher Columbus Park in downtown Boston. UniteBoston’s team recognizes that this park was named after someone who led an expedition to the Americas and is responsible for the killing of native peoples. The park is also adjacent to Long Wharf\, where slave traders trafficked kidnapped Africans into Boston. We call individuals to grieve and repent from the sin of racism and its impacts\, which shaped the founding of our country and continue to endure in us as individuals\, in our churches\, institutions\, culture and social systems. As an initial step\, UniteBoston’s team is taking this year to better understand the ways in which white supremacy shows up in our leadership and organization\, and how we can contribute to unity in the body of Christ that upholds Biblical justice. Together\, may we work towards dismantling the ways that systemic racism shows up in Greater Boston and beyond\, so we can honor the image of God inherent in all people and contribute to holistic flourishing reflective of God’s kingdom.
