SUMMARY:Half-Day Soul Sabbath 3/16
DESCRIPTION:What is a Soul Sabbath? \nA Soul Sabbath is the term we use at Leadership Transformations to describe a time and space created for communion with God – for listening to God’s Word and exploring our deep\, heart response to God. This is an opportunity that allows believers to draw aside from the normal and necessary activities of life and ministry in order to devote themselves to prayerful attentiveness to the Lord. \nParticipants receive a brief retreat orientation\, a reflection on the selected topic\, and thematic resources to guide them through the morning. Time is then given for individual silence and reflection in spacious places each venue affords. Our time together concludes with small group sharing and prayers of thanks to the Lord for all that He has done. Refreshments will be available throughout the morning. Please consider joining us! \nRegister here: https://leadershiptransformations.wufoo.com/forms/z1vfj8x91fz6w1d/ \nDate & Time:\nSaturday\, March 16\, 2019\n8:45am – 12:30pm \nRetreat Theme: Sheltered in the Shepherd’s Care\nHaving called us\, Jesus tends to each of His loved ones purchased with His blood. SUMMARY:YWAM Boston's Movement Discipleship Training School
DESCRIPTION:VISION\nOur vision is to use fitness as a catalyst to empower us to reach our full potential in every area of our lives\, ready to do whatever it takes to carry the gospel to the ends of the earth.\nMovement Discipleship Training School is a 5-month experience of spiritual\, emotional\, and physical growth.\nThe school is broken up into two phases. The first part of the school is three months in Boston\, followed by a 2-month outreach in Cambodia.  Apply here.\n\n\nDuring the first phase\, our students glean from a different visiting teacher each week. Our teachers are required to have life experience in the topic they cover. We have an integrated schedule with 12 lecture hours per week focused on our core DTS curriculum\, including the nature and character of God\, evangelism\, identity in Christ\, intercession\, healthy relationships\, world missions\, and more. \nLecture content will be supplemented by times of group intercession\, worship\, small group and evangelism and exercise. \nWe are partnering with a local CrossFit gym where we will be involved in a wide variety of exercises including running\, biking\, rowing\, weight lifting\, and bodyweight exercises. All of this will be done in a no judgment atmosphere full of encouragement and fun! This is fitness in community! \nWe believe that fitness can be a catalytic spark empowering and inspiring us to wake up to the reality of our full potential in every area of our lives And we are convinced that God’s glory is seen more fully when His children are fully alive! \nAfter 3 months of transformation in Boston\, we will travel to Southeast Asia to partner with YWAM in Cambodia. Cambodia is less than 2% evangelical Christian and is in great need of the gospel to be preached and demonstrated with power and compassion. We will be working with an established fitness ministry in Cambodia\, supporting and encouraging their work. We will learn from them as we get hands-on opportunity to serve by their side and see what God is doing to reach their city Your eyes will be opened to the vast potential of kingdom impact in the nations as you are exposed to a variety of different ministries.  Additional potential ministry involvement includes evangelism\, cafe ministry\, fitness related ministry\, teaching english\, ministering to children at risk\, church planting\, etc.

SUMMARY:Healers of the Line: Recognizing & Healing Inherited Trauma
DESCRIPTION:The Cory Johnson Program for Post-Traumatic Healing presents: \nTrauma Education Night on THURSDAY 3/21!!\nDinner at 6 pm; Program at 7 pm \nTOPIC: Healers of the Line: Recognizing & Healing Inherited Trauma \nWe now know that profound suffering can cause changes to our DNA/genes\, potentially leading to someone in a future generation experiencing the symptoms of a trauma (wound) they didn’t actually experience. Effectively\, we are connected across generations through our wounds. Moreover\, the consequences of the suffering we experience can cause ripple effects to those we live with and around\, including our communities. There is much to learn and understand about these inherited traumas (wounds)\, including how we can address them now and become ‘Healers of the Line’ so that they don’t continue forward into future generations. Presented by Colleen Sharka\, LMHC\, Director\, Cory Johnson Program for Post-Traumatic Healing. Pass this information along! \nRoxbury Presbyterian Church Social Impact Center\n328 Warren Street\nRoxbury\, MA 02119 \nNO COST – JUST SHOW UP – Child care provided\, too !!!

SUMMARY:CASKET Seminar on the Old Testament
DESCRIPTION:Interested in learning and understanding the redemptive narrative of the Old Testament through six major periods: Creation\, Abraham\, Sinai\, Kings\, Exile\, and Temple? Key events\, people\, and biblical books will be placed in their historical and theological context\, and you will learn how the Old Testament narrative finds its fulfillment in the New Testament. The acronym for the entire Bible — CASKET EMPTY — points to the empty tomb of Jesus as the center of God’s plan of redemption in the Bible. \nDr. Carol Kaminski teaches courses in Old Testament and Hebrew language at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Her books include: From Noah to Israel: Realization of the Primaeval Blessing After the Flood and Was Noah Good? Finding Favour in the Flood Narrative. She is currently writing commentary on 1-2 Chronicles (Zondervan\, Story of God Series). Her research interests include exegesis and theology of Genesis\, Old Testament covenants\, and biblical theology.

SUMMARY:Sattler Talks: Missionary and Author Pablo Yoder
DESCRIPTION:Pablo has a proven track record for living out Jesus’ teachings on loving your enemy in classic hypothetical “what would you do” scenarios. He has written about some of these encounters in books such as Angels in the Night and Angels Over Waslala.  He will be speaking about his life and experiences as they relate to preparing to live out Jesus’ peaceful revolution (even in the most difficult moments). While planting a church in Waslala\, Nicaragua the Yoders experienced upwards of 40 robberies. As a lover of nature\, he also writes about the colorful wildlife of Central America. He has written two books filled with colorful photos of Nicaraguan wildlife. Other books he has written include: The Long Road Home\, The Work of thy fingers\, My Father’s World\, and The Death of a Saloon.

After interning with the congregation\, completing rabbinical school and receiving Smicha\, Rabbi Nathan now serves Ruach Israel as Associate Rabbi. \nRabbi Nathan holds a BA in classical trumpet performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston\, MA. He completed his rabbinical studies at the Messianic Jewish Theological Institute (MJRC) (2007 — 2012) and was ordained by the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations (UMJC) and the Messianic Jewish Rabbinical Council (MJRC) in 2012. \nRabbi Nathan is co-founder and director of Camp Or L’Dor\, a Messianic Jewish summer youth camp. He also serves as a member of the Messianic Jewish Rabbinical Council (MJRC) and as rabbinical advisor for the UMJC 20s\, the “20s Rabbi.” He speaks widely about Messianic Judaism in congregations\, at conferences and other venues around the United States. Rabbi Nathan and his wife Raina have five lively\, young children. \nRabbi Nathan speaks about his spiritual journey: \n“I went into music conservatory hoping to pursue a career in classical music. But God seemed to have different plans. While on a life-transforming journey along the Appalachian Trail\, I came to know and embrace Yeshua\, the Messiah. This shaping encounter brought me full circle\, eventually inspiring me to become a Messianic Jewish rabbi. Raina and I look back on our growing family over the years with nothing but a deep sense of gratitude for the tremendous blessings we share together. \nAsked about what inspires him about being a rabbi at Ruach Israel\, Rabbi Nathan says: \n“Ruach Israel is more than just a job\, it is family. From teaching\, to leading services\, to praying for and walking with our members through life’s joys and challenges – I love it all. I also count it a privilege to work every day with such a terrific leadership team of professionals and nonprofessionals at Ruach Israel. Yet even beyond the walls of our special congregation\, I am inspired to do my part to build a vibrant Messianic Jewish movement — a Judaism with Yeshua at its very heart. We are part of something much larger than ourselves\, and I believe that we are doing our small part to change the world.” \nAbout Mark Le Doux: \nMark is an accomplished international business executive with a 45 year history in successful business. He is also a spokesperson for his industry and is frequently called to Washington DC to interface with Congress and regulatory agencies dealing with complex issues that are both domestic and international. He has operations in Switzerland\, California and Japan and is an elected leader in his community of Hollis\, New Hampshire as Chairman of the Selectman Board. \nHis passion is for helping others from all walks of life to come to grips with their destiny\, while encouraging and enabling them to overcome self-doubt and fears of inadequacy. He has spoken to thousands on four continents about his passion for health and life choices while reminding people that all we have comes from G-d’s providence. \nHearing from the Ruach HaKodesh through years of practical ministry in the marketplace all around the world\, Mark has enjoyed seeing the sick be healed\, broken-hearts mended\, and people be delivered from self-doubt with a particular emphasis on bringing liberty to men and calling them into their G-d ordained roles in life. \nAbout Julie Lavender Le Doux: \nAs an overcomer of disabling performance anxiety who is now a working performer and broadcaster\, artist\, composer and vocalist\, Julie Lavender\, has a passion to help others beat paralyzing fear to take center stage in their own stories. \nPerformance and social anxieties\, in all of their many manifestations\, squelch the voices of people in ways that go far beyond what is traditionally referred to as “stage fright.” Julie’s work also goes far beyond traditional behavioral modification techniques\, therapies\, meditations\, brain training methods and drugs that are employed to deal with social anxieties and phobias. She offers a multi-dimensional approach to help people overcome the power of fear’s icy tentacles and release their silenced voices\, undermined talents\, minimized expressions\, and buried capacities for connection and success.

SUMMARY:Dying Well: Multi-Religious End of Life Conversations
DESCRIPTION:Conversations about what it means to live well until the very end have a powerful impact on how we live–and how we die. SUMMARY:UniteBoston Neighborhood Dinner: Jamaica Plain
DESCRIPTION:Join for a neighborhood dinner in Jamaica Plain on Tuesday April 2nd\, hosted by Kate Devane Brown from Mosaic Boston. The photo above was taken from the Jamaica Plain neighborhood dinner in January. \nThe goal for the dinners is to build relationships and to let our relationships inform our shared mission of revealing Jesus’ love within our communities. This time\, we will focus on what Lent means to us: if there are personal practices which we find meaningful\, the value of taking time for self-reflection\, what it means to live out our identity as people looking forward to the resurrection\, and more. \nAll are welcome\, and if you live in the Jamaica Plain area\, you’re especially invited to attend! This dinner is potluck-style; please bring your favorite side\, drink or dessert. Please RSVP by emailing Kate at kdevanebrown@gmail.com and she will give you the specific address. \nThis is a great opportunity to invite friends\, clergy\, and acquaintances who live nearby\, and also those around the Boston area who’d like to join in the conversation. Help us spread the word through Facebook: \nClick here to learn more about UniteBoston neighborhood dinners\, and sign up so we can be in touch with one happening in your neighborhood!
