SUMMARY:Share Your Voice: Faith & Mental Health Survey
DESCRIPTION:We are two undergraduate researchers studying the relationship between faith and mental health in Black Christian churches across Greater Boston. We’re inviting congregants and pastoral leaders (18+\, identifying as Black\, attending a Christian church with predominantly Black leadership) to complete a brief\, anonymous 10–15 minute online survey. Your voice can help us better understand how faith communities support mental health and where additional resources might help. All responses are confidential and non-identifiable. \nLink to Survey: https://neu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1yTT0sAns2Qunjw

SUMMARY:Reparations and Community Repair
DESCRIPTION:WHAT WE PROPOSE HAPPENS NEXT BRJC outlines six immediate steps to move Boston’s reparations process forward \nBOSTON\, MA – As Boston’s reparations process enters an important new phase following the cancellation of a portion of its historical research\, the Boston Reparative Justice Coalition (BRJC)\, through the Reparations Now! Campaign for Boston\, is releasing a six-step community proposal focused on completing unfinished work\, strengthening descendant participation\, and providing residents with a clearer path from historical research to recommendations and implementation. \nOn September 2\, community activist and American Freedman Aja Jackson wrote in the Bay State Banner that Boston must stop studying reparations and start delivering them. Since then\, the urgency has increased: the Tufts-led portion of the historical research was cancelled\, the full $335\,000 contract amount was returned to the City\, and the separate Northeastern research covering 1940-2020 is complete and under review. \nWith several community proposals and timelines now circulating\, BRJC believes residents should have a clear understanding of what is already underway\, what remains incomplete\, and what additional steps could help move the existing work toward completion. \n“The City must document the facts\, and the community must document what those facts did to our families\,” said Jackson. “The goal is not to replace professional research with testimony. It is to make sure descendant evidence can help identify records\, add context\, reveal gaps\, and show the generational impact of documented public actions.” \nWHAT WE PROPOSE HAPPENS NEXT \n\nComplete the missing historical research. Finish the factual record from the 1600s-1940 with rigorous documentation of policies\, institutions\, properties\, displacement\, economic losses\, government actions\, and other identifiable harms wherever records allow.\nRelease the completed 1940-2020 research for public review. Residents should be able to read the findings\, understand the evidence\, ask questions\, and identify gaps or areas requiring further examination.\nOpen a structured descendant testimony and evidence period. American Freedmen and descendants of people enslaved in the United States should have a clear\, consent-based way to submit family histories\, addresses\, property records\, photographs\, deeds\, oral histories\, business records\, employment histories\, and other evidence.\nConnect community testimony to professional research. Family testimony should help researchers identify missing records\, corroborate documented harms\, provide context\, and reveal impacts that may not appear in government files.\nComplete the economic analysis and connect documented harms to possible remedies. Once the historical and family records are assembled\, Boston can more clearly evaluate the scale and continuing effects of documented harms and organize remedy options for consideration.\nMove to public recommendations and an implementation timetable. The community should know when research ends\, when recommendations will be presented\, how the Mayor will respond\, and what the next steps toward implementation will be.\nCOMPLETE THE FACTUAL RECORD. BUILD THE DESCENDANT RECORD. CONNECT THE EVIDENCE TO THE HARM.\n\nINFORM THE REPAIR. \nCOMMUNITY GATHERING \nREPARATIONS NOW! Community Meeting\, Briefing & Organizing Session – Friday\, September 25\, 2026\, 6:00-7:30 PM\, in front of the Shaw-Dudley Library\, 149 Dudley Street\, Roxbury. Residents are encouraged to bring family names\, Boston addresses\, property information\, photographs\, records\, and the stories they know.

SUMMARY:Creativity in the Wilderness — Hamilton\, MA
DESCRIPTION:Dialogue with cellist\, composer\, and artist-in-context Kendall Ramseur. \n\n\n\nKendall Ramseur\, an award-winning cellist\, composer\, vocalist\, and musical storyteller\, is the artist in context at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary for the 2026-2027 academic year. During this time\, he will be composing Songs from the Wilderness\, a new cello concerto inspired by the Exodus narrative that invites audiences to reflect on God’s presence and faithfulness in seasons of wilderness. \nAs part of the creative process of composing\, Kendall will spend time in dialogue with students\, faculty\, and community members about wilderness experiences\, identity\, and the role of creativity within the journey of faith. Moderated by Dr. Wes Vander Lugt\, director of the Leighton Ford Inititive in Theology\, the Arts\, and Gospel Witness at Gordon-Conwell\, this informal gathering provides a unique opportunity to participate in honest dialogue and to influence and learn about a major musical composition. \nAnyone is welcome to register for this free event\, which will take place on the first floor of the Retreat House. Students are welcome to bring lunches. If you are coming from off campus\, there is parking available by the Retreat House\, which is the first building up the hill once you take a left at the fork. Registration is limited to 20\, so please be sure to sign up in advance. \nRegister Today \n\nMore about Kendall: A founding member of Sons of Serendip\, Kendall now performs and creates as a solo artist\, with performances and original works presented on stages around the world and featured across film\, television\, and other media\, including large-scale orchestral commissions that bring together music\, narrative\, and cultural reflection. Born in Charlotte\, NC\, Kendall now resides in Boston with his wife and two sons.

(1 John 4:18-19) We will be activating Christ’s Bride of Massachusetts and New England\, without spot or blemish (Ephesians 5:27) as we come together and reach up to touch the hem of His garment\, (Matt 9:21-22; Ephesians 4:16.)  \nOver the next few months these gatherings will be held in multiple strategic locations across Massachusetts. Abba is leading us to the Boston Common this Saturday\, followed by Lenox and Plymouth. Then at least two more Calls to Worship in November in Massachusetts. \nMore information and registration are available on the link below: \nhttps://www.risingdoveministries.com/events/a-call-to-worship-in-spirit-and-in-truth-boston \n Registration is FREE  \n(https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/organizations/rising-dove-ministries-international-inc)  \nPlease pray about giving or bringing a Love/Free Will Offering to cover the worship leader\, and other similarly essential expenses. \nPlease reach out for further information or to connect.  \nLorri@risingdoveministries.com \nAndreavanboven@pm.me ; andreavanboven.com
