SUMMARY:Miracle Mile Ministries - Vision-Casting and Training
DESCRIPTION:As we look forward to the fall season\, we want to come together as one body and share the vision for Miracle Mile Ministries. We will have a time of worship and vision casting. Following this time\, we will have time to separate into our teams (clothing closet\, distribution\, table stewards\, etc.) and discuss individual vision for each team. We will also have a separate training during this time for new and potential volunteers. \nThis training is required for all current and potential volunteers. It is vital that we are all pursuing the same vision together as we plan for the growth of the ministry\, spiritually and organizationally. \nPlease sign up here and message Evelyn or Heidi if you cannot make it. The Parcel 7 (Haymarket) Garage is a 10′ walk away from the park; costs $16 for the day or $3 for up to 3 hours of parking if validated by local business; If you park for longer than 3 hours in the Haymarket Garage\, the validation is void and regular rates apply. Local organizations and businesses are invited to sponsor a table during our fall concert. We have sliding scale costs based on the size of your organization. Invite your pastor\, colleagues and friends to rejoice in the Lord together in the heart of the city! Students can become Concert Ambassadors\, who spread the word at their campus\, help to create a welcoming atmosphere\, and strengthen their leadership skills. You can also download our Church Media Kit to share about the concert at your local church!\n\n\n\n \nA note on the location: \nThis worship gathering is taking place at Christopher Columbus Park in downtown Boston. UniteBoston’s team recognizes that this park was named after someone who led an expedition to the Americas and is responsible for the killing of native peoples. The park is also adjacent to Long Wharf\, where slave traders trafficked kidnapped Africans into Boston. We call individuals to grieve and repent from the sin of racism and its impacts\, which shaped the founding of our country and continue to endure in us as individuals\, in our churches\, institutions\, culture and social systems. As an initial step\, UniteBoston’s team is taking this year to better understand the ways in which white supremacy shows up in our leadership and organization\, and how we can contribute to unity in the body of Christ that upholds Biblical justice. Together\, may we work towards dismantling the ways that systemic racism shows up in Greater Boston and beyond\, so we can honor the image of God inherent in all people and contribute to holistic flourishing reflective of God’s kingdom.

SUMMARY:Soul Care Cohort
DESCRIPTION:WOW! Soul Care cohorts are a geographically accessible\, financially affordable ministry care program designed for ministry\, community\, and organizational leaders that can be attended and sustained within their regular rhythm of ministry and life. We envision these gathering times to be a communal soul sabbath\, where participants will be led through contemplative exercises and introduced to group spiritual direction\, giving space for each individual to listen and pay attention to how God would like to minister to and care for them. We would like to foster a community of grace for these ministry leaders to share and listen in a safe setting and leave nourished\, better able to fulfill the work the Lord has called them to. We also want to connect them to practical resources and equipping on caring for themselves and others in their communities through coaching and teaching from Christian mental and emotional health experts\, with exercises they will need to complete for their own care. We believe this type of cohort support creates space for participants to connect with\, learn\nfrom and value one another\, embracing our mission of prayer\, teaching and celebration in helping women uncover and affirm their God-given calling. \nApplications are receiving on a rolling basis. Please feel free to contact us for any further questions or clarification.

SUMMARY:Religious Leadership & Public Repair: A Conversation with Rob Schenck and Abigail Disney
DESCRIPTION:Join Hebrew College for “Religious Leadership & Public Repair”: A conversation with Rev. Rob Schenck\, an ordained evangelical minister and a progressive voice of dissent in his religious community and Abigail E. Disney\, Filmmaker/Philanthropist/Activist. \nThe conversation\, moderated by Rabbi Or Rose\, Director of Hebrew College’s Miller Center for Interreligious Learning & Leadership\, will include clips from Disney’s award-winning documentary\, The Armor of Light\, to explore Schenck’s evolution as a minister\, his relationship with Disney\, and their reflections on the need to forge relationships across divides. This will include discussion of lessons learned\, current projects\, and future possibilities. \nThe event is free and open to the public. Registration is required. \nAbout the Film \nThe film captures Schenck’s journey of conscience\, as he began to question the consistency of the pro-gun and pro-life stances of the far-right evangelical movement that he represented at the time. This would eventually lead to Schenck’s break from evangelical orthodoxy on guns\, abortion\, and the public display of religious symbols. \nOur Speakers: \nReverend Dr. Rob Schenck spent nearly four decades as a controversial far-right national figure. The once prominent anti-abortion activist has since repudiated his radical conservative positions and has dedicated himself to promoting racial justice\, reducing gun violence\, and fostering religious inclusion. He is serving as a Hebrew College Visiting Faculty member for the 2023-2024 academic year\, working closely with the College’s Miller Center for Interreligious Leadership & Learning. \nAbigail E. Disney advocates for real changes to the way capitalism operates in today’s world. As a philanthropist and social activist\, she has worked with organizations supporting peacebuilding\, gender justice\, and systemic cultural change. She is a documentary filmmaker who won an Emmy for her film\, The Armor of Light. Her latest film\, The American Dream and Other Fairy Tales\, which she co-directed with Kathleen Hughes\, made its world premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. The film screened in select theaters and is available on demand. In Season 4 of the podcast All Ears\, Abigail uses the film as a jumping-off point to ask big-thinking business leaders\, union organizers\, economists\, and others how they would fix our broken economy. \nRabbi Or Rose is the founding Director of the Miller Center for Interreligious Learning & Leadership of Hebrew College. Before assuming this position in 2016\, he worked in various administrative and teaching capacities at Hebrew College for over a decade\, including serving as a founding faculty member and Associate Dean of the Rabbinical School. Rabbi Rose was also one of the creators of CIRCLE\, The Center for Interreligious & Community Leadership Education\, cosponsored by Hebrew College and Andover Newton Theological School (2007-2017). \nEmail us with any questions\, and register here today!
