SUMMARY:March for Jesus Revive Boston 2024
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this historic event\nNow is the time for revival in Boston. Join thousands of believers from across the region to reclaim the City of Boston for Jesus. The Lord told Joshua\, “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you” (Joshua 1:3). This promise is alive and active for the Church today. As representatives of the Kingdom of God\, each step we take on this ‘March for Jesus’ is symbolic of taking the City of Boston (and its inhabitants) for the Kingdom of God. \nMake no mistake\, this is not a protest or political march\, but a victory march for our Lord Jesus Christ. Our march will begin at 2pm from Boston City Hall Flags\, all the way to the Parkman Bandstand – Boston Common\, where will be joined by local worship bands\, preachers\, gospel singers\, DJ’s\, churches\, and evangelism teams. We will also be holding water baptisms on the common for new converts. What an awesome celebration this will be in the heart of our City. The Kingdom of God is coming to Boston

SUMMARY:Live theatre with music\, outdoors
DESCRIPTION:The Rev. Rita Powell (Episcopal Chaplain\, Harvard) has written a play\, inspired by the writing of early Christian theologian Evagrius. We Say Various Things About Sleep will be presented outdoors (in Cambridge and in Fitchburg)\, with live music\, on August 23\, 24 and 25. \nHow does the body experience the spiritual? Do we know our own souls? How do we encounter the divine: through music\, text\, movement\, nature? Evagrius was transformed by his time spent in reflection in the wilderness; we seek our own miniature transformations\, spending an evening together in nature and art. \nEnjoy a New England summer evening with theatre and music! Please do come early and bring a picnic. (Also\, bring something to sit on! If you’re joining us in Cambridge\, bring a picnic blanket or a folding chair. If you’re joining us in Fitchburg\, there will be stone seats – but bring padding to sit on!) \nTickets are FREE (though donations are much appreciated!)  You can find all details for We Say Various Things About Sleep at an Eventbrite page here \nPlease join us for a unique experience.

SUMMARY:A big question day: WHY PRAY?
DESCRIPTION:‘I’m tired of praying; I never get an answer.’ \n\n\n‘I don’t have enough hope to pray.’ \n\n\n‘I don’t know how to pray!’ \n\n\nThese and many other thoughts may have crossed all of our minds. Prayer is at the heart of our call as Christians\, but many Christians find it the most mysterious spiritual practice.  How can lay leaders and clergy inspire their congregations to pray?  How should we pray as a group or as individuals? \nPlease join The St. Paul Center (TSPC) to explore this important question together\, in honest and open conversation. All are welcome – clergy and lay\, Episcopalians\, seekers\, and ecumenical friends\, experienced prayer warriors and those who feel like beginners. Our day will include teaching\, conversation\, reflection\, and of course prayer! All participants will leave with materials to bring back to their congregation\, to continue the conversation and learning. \nOur ‘Why Pray?’ days will be hosted at St. Paul’s Newburyport\, St. Thomas’ Taunton\, and the Cathedral Church of St. Paul Boston\, July 27th\, 10am to 2.30pm. You are warmly invited to join us at whichever location works for you! Tea and coffee will be served at the start of the day\, and you are invited to bring a packed lunch. \nFind out more\, and sign up to attend\, at https://www.stpaulboston.org/why-pray

SUMMARY:Women in Christian Leadership: A Time of Listening and Sharing
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special\, set aside space during the annual Vision New England Leaders Gathering for women in Christian leadership to gather for dessert and meaningful conversation. Let’s come and process together the unique experiences\, stories\, and perspectives we hold on Tuesday May 7\, from 6:00 to 8:30pm at Gordon College. \nThe hope for this gathering is to experience a space of deep listening and connection about living and leading throughout this pre-election year as a Christian woman leader. This will be a special structured time to meet with God\, yourself\, and others. \nWe seek to slow down our minds and bodies to practice the art and gift of presence with one another and with God. We seek to create a brave space for all women to come fully as they are to listen\, share\, and process together. \nWe’ll be crafting small group dialogue where your voice\, story and engagement matter\, so the earlier you RSVP\, this helps out with our planning. You can also invite a friend or two in Christian leadership who might appreciate this kind of space and whom you can journey with to continue the evening’s conversation. \nClick here to register \n*Note: When you click on the Eventbrite\, it may say “sold out.” However\, this is likely not the case\, as we have been receiving some spammed registrations. Please email Ashley Howard apitkin@visionnewengland.org to register if the event says sold out. Thank you!

SUMMARY:Prayer Event - America Belongs to Jesus
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join America Belongs to Jesus tour with us  at Leominster\, MA in this spiritual battle for the soul of America. \nTwenty-one significant locations for prayer and spiritual warfare across America. \nAmerica Belongs to Jesus Prayer Tour was birthed in July 2023 in Dallas\, TX\, when Bro. Mohan C Lazarus\, Founder of Jesus Redeems Ministries\, received a vision after being awakened by the Lord at 2am with an urgency to pray with an intense cry. In the vision\, the Lord shared the burden of His heart saying\, “America belongs to me. I founded this nation\, but Satan has captured many aspects of the nation and is swiftly fulfilling his plans.” As Bro. Mohan continued to pray\, the Lord spoke further and reaffirmed that only two nations were created specifically to fulfill God’s purpose – one being Israel\, where Jesus was born\, crucified\, buried\, resurrected\, and where the revival began with the birth of a worldwide church; and the second\, America\, created exclusively for God’s purposes\, and for spreading the end time revival fire all around the world. \nDespite being only 247 years old\, America has become a superpower\, influencing global economics; leading in missionary work\, education\, research\, and humanitarian aid; and attracting people worldwide through the blessing of the Lord. Since the USA gave the Lord Jesus Christ the first place in everything\, the Lord honored and lifted the nation. However\, dark forces of the enemy have led the nation astray into sins of homosexuality\, satanic worship\, abortion\, drugs\, and idolatry resulting in curses that hinder the spiritual growth and destiny of the nation.  \n“America Belongs to Jesus!” is the proclamation and mandate for a fasting and prayer tour given to Bro. Mohan\, through an encounter with the Lord\, to realign America with its divine purpose in God’s end time revival through prayer. In obedience to the call of God\, Bro. Mohan scheduled a 21-day\, 21-city Prayer Tour in April 2024.

SUMMARY:Good Friday Public Worship & Action for Ceasefire
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Good Friday\, March 29\, at 4PM at Faneuil Hall* Square to make it known: as Christians and people of faith\, we demand a ceasefire now.\n \nGood Friday\, March 29\, 4PM 1 Faneuil Hall* Sq\, Boston\, MA 02109 (map) RSVP at: https://bit.ly/goodfridayaction \nThis Holy Week\, we follow in the steps of Jesus who resisted the forces of violence and oppression even to the point of death on a cross\, and triumphed over them in his resurrection. On Good Friday\, we remember and bear witness to Jesus’ suffering at the hands of the Roman Empire. This prophetic memory calls us to be in solidarity with Palestinians and all peoples who are suffering under occupation and systemic violence. On Good Friday\, we will mourn the lives lost in Gaza\, and take action to ensure this violence ends. \nWe will engage the narrative and symbols of Jesus’ confrontation with—and victory over—violence to demand that our government take this opportunity to confess\, repent\, and repair. We call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire\, unfettered aid to enter Gaza\, an end to unrestricted funding for weapons of war to Israel\, and a release of all hostages and prisoners. \nWe will gather to worship—with preaching\, confession\, song and ritual—and we will take action to proclaim to our city and to our political leaders that the time for a lasting ceasefire is now. We call on people of faith to stand alongside Palestinian Christians in their call to “reject all theologies and interpretations that legitimize the wars of the powerful” and to recognize a “God of the downtrodden and the oppressed\, and a Jesus who rebuked the powerful and lifted up the marginalized.” \nWe are mindful of the history of Christian antisemitic violence during Holy Week\, especially on Good Friday. On this day as we face the cross\, we must reckon with the legacy of violence and colonization\, committed in the name of Christianity\, while we recommit to the liberating path of Jesus\, who confronted empire and proclaimed\, “Blessed are the peacemakers.” \nThe calls for a permanent ceasefire continue to grow\, and the political establishment is finding it harder to ignore the will of people. The Biden administration is pushing for a “temporary truce” that does not take any responsibility for the United States’ role in the destruction of Gaza. We call on our nation’s representatives to live into the values they claim to support. We need a lasting ceasefire now. \nThis action is being planned by a group of clergy and faith leaders\, many of whom are associated with Interfaith Ceasefire in Boston. \nFollow us @interfaithceasefire on instagram and @interfaithcease on X/Twitter. \n\n\n\n*In October of 2023 the Boston City Council voted to change the name of Faneuil Hall which was named for a slave owner and slave trader\, after years of organizing by a coalition to change the name of the hall.

SUMMARY:2024 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
DESCRIPTION:The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is an international initiative where Christians worldwide are reminded of Jesus’ prayer for his disciples that “they may be one so that the world may believe” (John 17:21). Locally\, UniteBoston coordinates evening collaborative gatherings of fellowship\, prayer and worship from January 18-25 annually.\n\nThis year’s theme\, liturgies\, and prayer guides were developed together by Christian churches from Burkina Faso in western Africa. This year’s theme is based on the text from the Gospel of St Luke: “You shall love the Lord your God … and your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10:27). In response to the question of who is my neighbor\, Jesus responds with a parable illustrating love extending far beyond the limits expected by the lawyer. It is not shared identities that should prompt us to come to the aid of the other\, but love of our ‘neighbor.’ Here in Boston\, it may be common to relate to one another like Samaritans and Jews\, divided culturally and theologically and living with unfriendly or hostile relationships. However\, Jesus points us to a different way: to engage with those on the “other side” and even understand the situations of one another so intricately that we can ‘pour oil or wine’ on one another’s wounds. Our times of insecurity and fear confront us with a reality where distrust and uncertainty come to the forefront of relationships. This is the challenge of the parable today: to whom am I a neighbour? \nMark Your Calendars – You are invited to mark your calendars and plan to attend the evening gatherings! In this time of Epiphany\, we encourage you to receive the manifestation of Jesus Christ through those of different denominations\, races and cultures. Let’s make the most of these opportunities in order to truly be the family of God and serve as the body of Christ in the world. Let’s also pray with our feet – express love to our neighbors as an act of prayer. \nCommunity Dinner Template – You can use this template for conversation and prayer along this theme with your church or community group! \nSpread the Word – We also appreciate help spreading the word to people in your congregation\, family\, friends\, and neighbors. A personal invitation goes a long way. Calling to mind our common commitment to ‘love thy neighbor\,’ may the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity\, January 18-25\, 2024 be full of moments of conversion of heart through our encounters\, so that “all may be one.” God of welcome\, grant us the grace to risk embracing the stranger\, tending their wounds and standing in solidarity with them. Strengthen our resolve to be kind and merciful and to act towards our sisters and brothers at all times as you do towards us. Lord Jesus\, who prayed that all might be one\, we pray to you for the unity of all Christians\, according to your will\, according to your means. May your Spirit enable us to experience the suffering caused by division\, to see our sin and to hope beyond all hope. Amen. \nSchedule \n\n\n\nLoving Our Unhoused Neighbors: HOME Thursday Night Outreach Thursday January 18\, 5:45 to 7:15pm with optional prep time beforehand and debrief afterwards | Park Street Church\, 1 Park Street\, Downtown Boston \n\n\n\n  Join to serve with Park Street Church’s HOME ministry\, where they welcome 60-100+ unhoused neighbors and other neighbors in need to fellowship meals hosted on Thursday evenings from 5:45-7:15pm and Saturday mornings from 8:30-11am.
