DESCRIPTION:Position Title: WelcomeNST Ambassador – Boston \nPosition Location: Remote. Must live in and be able to travel around the Greater Boston MA Area \nHours: Approximately 10–15 hours/week \nPay:  $1500 per month \nPosition Summary: \nThe Ambassador will expand WelcomeNSTs effort to support refugees and immigrants in the Greater Boston area through: \n\nOutreach: Engaging communities of faith to form Neighborhood Support Teams (NSTs) to help their refugee and immigrant neighbors with a goal of forming at least 3 new NSTs/month\nSupport: Working with grassroots organizations and networks to help NSTs find needed local supports for families as they walk alongside them on their road to self-reliance.\n\nYou will do this in concert with WelcomeNST and our partners. This position is a hybrid role\, reporting directly to the Director of Outreach and the Director of Programs. It is ideal for a motivated self-starter with strong relationship and partnership-building skills\, a demonstrated passion for working with refugees\, deep connections in the Greater Boston area\, strong communication skills and a genuine desire to find ways to help immigrants thrive in this challenging climate. \nKey Responsibilities: \nOutreach \n\nEngage your existing networks and those of our partners as well as grassroots and faith communities to find people who are looking for a way to make an impact at this historical moment as well as faith communities seeking support from their neighbors\nEngage these interested neighbors and faith leaders and educate them about what it means to form an NST\nProactively form relationships with new like-minded organizations\, networks and congregations of helpers\nProvide regular updates to the Director of Outreach and attend a weekly coordination meeting with the WelcomeNST outreach team\n\nPrograms \n\nAttend “match meetings” in which the faith communities are matched together to form NSTs.\nServe as a primary point of contact for NSTs in your region post-match\, assisting with local resources\, problem solving\, and local insights\nEstablish a relationship with partners and other organizations in your region that may provide support to our NSTs and the families they serve\nCoordinate with the Programs Team by providing regular updates to the Director of Outreach and attending a weekly coordination meeting\n\nQualifications: \n\nDemonstrated experience as a “community organizer” with a habit of engaging people to action to meet needs\nA networker and connector at heart with strong relationship building and management skills\nStrong connections within the Greater Boston area and a high level of comfort working with them to find ways to collaborate\nEnthusiastic\, energetic person with a flair for “getting to yes”\nPassionate about refugees and immigrants with a demonstrated history of helping newly arrived families\nFlexible\, self-motivated\, and ideally\, familiar with the dynamics of non-profit start-ups\nBasic proficiency with technology and ability to use/learn to use remote collaboration tools\n\nIf interested\, reach out to us at getinvolved@welcomenst.org

SUMMARY:Seeking Music Director (part-time)
DESCRIPTION:The Music Director is a part-time role\, 10-15 hours per week. The vision of Christ the King Dorchester is\nto be a gospel-driven church seeking the renewal and flourishing of all people in Dorchester and beyond.\nAs a church based in Boston’s largest and most diverse neighborhood\, we are seeking to hire a Music\nDirector who will help lead our worship services in ways that reflect the beautiful diversity not only of our\ncongregation\, but also the community our church is rooted in. Our Sunday worship services include\nvaried musical styles drawing from gospel\, hymns\, and contemporary worship. CTK Dorchester is a\nmember of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). \nWe are seeking:\n– A gifted musician\, who is called and able to lead musical worship in ways that reflect the diversity\nof our congregation and community.\n– A developer of persons\, who can lead our current group of music ministry volunteers and\ncontinue to develop and grow this team as you lead worship together.\n– A contributing member of our church staff team\, who will help shape Sunday worship services\, as\nwell as the broader life and ministry of our local church.\n– A committed member of our church\, who is energized and engaged in the mission and vision of\nCTK Dorchester. \nResponsibilities:\n– Oversee music for Sunday worship services and special events. Our weekly worship service is at\n4pm each Sundays at First Parish Dorchester\, however we are currently exploring options to\nmove to a morning service time.\n– Lead and develop a volunteer worship team who help lead each Sunday\n– Have creative oversight over all musical and lyrical arrangements\n– Organize and lead rehearsals of the music team\n– Manage the scheduling of rotations for music ministry volunteers\n– Collaborate with the Lead Pastor in choosing songs\n– Provide improvisational transition music during services\n– Prepare slides for Sunday services\n– Lead music for additional special events\, such as Good Friday\, Christmas Eve\, etc.\n– Order music and maintain music library and ensure compliance with CCLI copyright laws.\n– Attend weekly staff meetings \nQualifications:\n– Have experienced the grace of Jesus Christ in your own life and responded in faith\n– Be willing to make CTK Dorchester your church home by becoming a communing member\n– Gifted in musical ability vocally or instrumentally (piano or guitar preferred)\n– Ability to lead a congregation in musical worship both solo or with a team.\n– Three to five years experience in leading musical worship\n– Residing in\, or willingness to relocate to\, the neighborhood of Dorchester or surrounding\ncommunities is strongly preferred
