SUMMARY:Love Thy Neighbor: COVID Grocery Delivery
DESCRIPTION:Jesus’ call for us to “love thy neighbor” presents a unique challenge during this time of social distancing. We currently have a “Love Thy Neighbor” campaign that showcases the diverse ways in which Christians throughout Greater Boston demonstrate love and connect with their neighbors in new and unexpected ways. \nLove Thy Neighbor Grocery Delivery \nWe have partnered with Park Street Church on a program in which Christians throughout the Greater Boston area can assist families with basic food needs. This program is focused on families and households who have someone that tested positive for COVID-19\, by providing them with groceries. Working in partnership with Massachusetts COVID-19 Community Tracing Collaborative (CTC) at the Department of Public Health\, the program puts each volunteer in contact with a particular family within the person’s designated zip code. The volunteers then have 48 hours to purchase and deliver groceries to their assigned families. Our goal is to serve 20 people per day\, or 100 per week! As of January 6\, 2021\, 126 volunteers from 31 churches were able to provide 14\,438 meals! In fact\, 14% of families requesting groceries through the State of Massachusetts were met by this program! \nHow Can You Help? \nIf you would like to be involved in this beautiful and much needed initiative\, please fill out the Registration Form  and help us spread the word! To get started\, we need to identify individuals who are able and willing to purchase and deliver food in a timely manner within their community. \nThank You! \nWe dream about coming together as the whole Body of Christ across Boston\, and rising up to “love thy neighbor” by meeting this practical need is a great way to get started. DESCRIPTION:Together (but\, separately) taking action against sex trafficking & exploitation! \nWin New Sneakers and Fight Sex Trafficking!! Run Route One’s Virtual Freedom Race!! Races start October 6th and go through November 6th. \n86% of women exploited/trafficked want to leave but don’t know-how. \nThe average age of entry into the sex trade here in the United States is 12-years-old. \n70% of women working in the sex industry have aged out of the foster care system. \nOn November 6th\, Route One celebrates 10 years of completed ministry. For 10 years\, we have served women sexually exploited and traffick here in the United States. We have entered strip clubs for the sole reason of building relationships with women who work in the clubs. And\, we have equipped church and community leaders on the realities of trafficking here in the USA. \nMany of you have walked this journey with us. Please join us in celebrating ten years of ministry by running the Freedom Race. \nYou can run solo. You can run in pairs. You can run as a team. \nEach runner will receive a runners packet\, including; a bib\, running number\, a commemorative item\, and a participation medal. \nPictures of runners and/or their teams are encouraged. \nPrizes include: \n-New sneakers from ASICS or Nike for the fastest female & male \n-$50 gift card to Nike online to 2nd place runners \n-$25 Amazon Gift cards to 3rd place \n-Amazon gift card for the individual who raises the most money. \nYou can register in one of two ways; A. pay the $32.00 registration fee or B.
