Nurturing Relational Connections Across Boston's Christian Community
Join the Greater Boston Refugee Ministry (GBRM) TEAM at the Emmanuel Gospel Center Boston, as we share authentic African meals, and hear success stories of refugee-led change. There are many refugees who chose to leave America and return to their war-ravaged homelands in demonstration of their commitments to bring the Good News, and lasting peace, as well as reconciliation and recovery to their people. For five weeks, we shall embark on a Safari to read, discuss and explore the theory and practical aspects of this bold and new approach to changing our world using the book The Alternative.
In a refreshing new book, The Alternative, the award winning social entrepreneur, MacArthur Genius Award Recipient and founder of the Family Independence Initiative (www.fii.org), Mr. Mauricio L. Miller uses data and empirical evidence, to show that leadership and initiatives led by refugees, homeless, the poor and marginalized communities are bringing sustainable change and lasting peace to our world!
If you are concerned about the rising insecurity in our world, and why millions of dollars funding social services hasn’t ended poverty in the United States, this event is for you!
This is a five-week book group on Tuesdays during lunch, which will extend through June 29th. This event is free; to RSVP text: 8572499983 or email Torli Krua: tkrua@egc.org
*Note that you have to provide your own copy of the book The Alternative
